Grey Heritage: Noble Duty

I admit I started out a bit skeptical: after all, this game is just a FE clone packed with over-the-top anime clichés. Yes, that’s true... but that doesn't stop it from being a good game. The mechanics are essentially those of FE, simple and effective. There aren't many levels, but they are well-balanced in terms of difficulty and length. Highly recommended? No. But if you're hungry for games like this, it can provide a few hours of quality entertainment :)

A bit easy and maps could have more tile details, but overall great game which has seen a lot of developer love.

Great game lots of fun

Basically a straight upgrade from the first game. If you're a big turn-based RPG fan I'd say play both, but if you're less certain maybe just go with this one. While it is a prequel to the first game, knowing the story from the first game changes basically nothing. The big claim to fame here is the elemental statuses and reactions. While the system is still fairly shallow, it adds something a bit unique to the combat. The other big thing is the guard mechanic, where two of your units have the ability to take hits for adjacent allies. There are enemies with this ability as well. Unfortunately it is as overpowered and overcentralizing as ballistas were in the first game (those have thankfully been nerfed here). The rest of your squad is very frail offensively and moving in range of more than one enemy without being glued to one of your tanks is basically a death sentence. By the same token the enemies with the guard ability are so absurdly tanky that they will take 3-4 hits to kill with effective weapons and 10-20 otherwise. This slows the gameplay quite a bit. I just finished this game and absolutely loved it. I'm still buzzing from the experience—the art style and music were both spot on. Can't wait for your next masterpiece!

I got recommended this game by an article my phone pushed me in my notification screen and I was pleasantly surprised by its quality. It's not a 10 out of 10 game, but it's quick and good little fire emblem like. One thing of not is that the characters never do level up and you *have* to pay attention to the objectives described to you at the beginning of the map. I made the mistake of not capturing the middle castle on one level and that level lasted for like 50 turns, like 4 hours because I didn't read haha.
