[h2] Letters and Legends is part word game and part RPG. It has plenty of content and manages to mix up play with different elements keeping your interest. [/h2] I had played many hours on a word game called "Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey" in the past and this reminded me of that game so it immediately piqued my interest. They are very similar in structure actually but I would say Letters and Legends probably has enough differences and different modes to distinguish it from the other. Letters and Legends is a word game where you create words from a selection of letters on a grid and try to damage your opponents. Using special tiles, potions, equipping special items, or making longer words causes more damage. Sometimes, you will have a string of enemies to defeat and you take in turns making words whilst trying to remove their hearts (representing health) and keep your hearts plentiful. If you do get damaged you can buy health potions with coins earned from winning rounds and use them whenever, although you only have a maximum of ten potions and they only give you a small health boost, or you can incorporate blue tiles in your word to replenish some health. [h3]Gameplay & Features[/h3] Setting options include; Audio controls, Difficulty slider, Show clock (or hide it), Pulse effects on or off and a link to the credits, tutorial and rules. The game does auto-save. In Letters & Legends you make words to battle your enemies and depending on which class you use (Mage, Brute or Rogue) will determine what type of words hold more power. Words with 5 letters or more buff the Mage, if you use all of the letters in a row or column it empowers the Brute and if you use shorter words it enhances the Rogue’s skills. Unique challenges level up your characters and there are over 40 magical items to find to enhance your gameplay such as a stopwatch to to give you extra time to weapons that will add extra damage. Certain tiles in the game will have special powers such as fire, heal, poison, electric, ice, locked tiles and more. Thoroughly recommend Letters & Legends. An obvious premise with familiar gameplay, but that's part of its charm. The game is simple to pick up, yet there's enough strategy to give it depth and a satisfying challenge as you progress. For just a couple of quid, there's very little to lose and plenty of fun to gain. Definitely worth a buy.
