About Queen of Moths

It's a winter night. You're returning home by train. It's been a long time since you've been there. You just have to transfer to another train. Just a moment's wait at a small train station in the middle of the forest.

You're familiar with this - it's not the first time you've traveled this route. However, this time, a strange uneasiness accompanies you. Something is different. Something is not right.

As if something was watching you.

“We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.”
- H. P. Lovecraft

Queen of Moth is horror/weird fiction game. It contains elements that are drastic and can cause fear or disgust. However, if you have enough courage, you will:
 • Uncover an ancient secret
 • Discover a story where every decision you make matters
 • Unveil different endings of the tale
 • Perhaps uncover the truth (if there is one)
 • Or perhaps not? Who can say for sure?

✦ AI summary

Queen of Moths is a short atmospheric horror visual novel that effectively builds dread through surrealism and mystery rather than scares, with players appreciating its creepy, oppressive tone and multiple endings that encourage replays. However, the game has some technical issues like unrecognized endings creating loops, vague narrative explanations, and potential concerns about AI art, while some find the experience too brief and lacking in world-building or pacing depth despite the atmospheric strengths.

Alright. I've played through what should have been three endings for Queen of Moths. The game only recognized two and sent me back into a bit of a loop for the third, weirdly. Anyway, this is a decent little choose your own adventure horror title. Your first playthrough, assuming it doesn't send you into the weird decisions loop, should only take about ten minutes-ish. My two other playthroughs lasted about five minutes each. What this game does pretty well is set up an oppressive and mysterious atmosphere that also embraces surrealism in storytelling, and although the variations in choice are not expansive, they are there and will eventually allow you to see all seven endings if you are so inclined. I thought the first ending I got was a bit vague as to the hows and whys of it. The other two endings made perfect sense. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3619085728 What happens is, you are on your nightly train back home with the required transfer which is conveniently at a station in the middle of the forest, lol. Why is there a remote train station in the forest and nowhere near anything else including the train station employee's homes? No idea. We'…

Queen of Moths is a weird little horror game that leans more into atmosphere and the feeling of dread rather than jumpscares or gore—and I really liked that. You can finish a single run in under 10 minutes, but if you want to see all the endings, you’re looking at over an hour of exploring different paths and choices. In the story, you’re on a late-night train journey, stopping at a quiet, snowy forest station you’ve seen before… except this time something feels off. That’s the vibe the game nails so well—this creeping unease, like something’s watching you just beyond the edge of the screen. It’s very much in the cosmic/psychological horror vein, with surreal choices that slowly build toward one of several eerie endings. It’s a path-driven game, so your decisions matter, and there are seven endings to find if you’re into achievement hunting. The storytelling is minimal but effective, and it definitely gave me that “I’m in a dream and nothing is quite right” feeling. If you enjoy short, artsy horror experiences with a cool, unsettling atmosphere, Queen of Moths is worth checking out. It’s like a little slice of interactive weird fiction, and I’m glad I played it.

Queen of Moths is a psychological horror adventure that turns an ordinary trip home into a disturbing encounter with forces that seem increasingly impossible to understand. Developed and published by Tesseract Games, it begins with a simple scenario involving a late journey through a cold winter landscape and a stop at an isolated railway station surrounded by forest. Rather than immediately overwhelming the player with monsters or action, the game allows discomfort to emerge gradually. Familiar surroundings begin to feel strangely hostile, creating the impression that something unseen is observing events from beyond the edges of the screen. Atmosphere is easily one of its strongest qualities. The remote station and dark woodland provide an effective backdrop for a story built around isolation, uncertainty, and paranoia. Much of the tension comes from wondering what will happen rather than constantly reacting to obvious threats. The game embraces psychological and cosmic horror, allowing ordinary details to become unsettling as the protagonist's understanding of the situation begins to deteriorate. This approach works particularly well for players who enjoy horror based on suggest…

"i am the last song of the dead world" 💛🖤🖤🖤🖤 ✅ i like the concept stuff ⚠️ short, good vibes but mostly vibes ⛔ no real story, no skip previously seen text only option vibes: eldritch nightmare loop: short visual novel adventure with some point and click elements and multiple quick endings ramblings: neat atmosphere, i like the little touches of click and point elements, the little bits of background animation that add atmosphere. the sound mostly works quite well except for some effects. but, the writing and story itself are just not there, its too formless. i like weird mysterious stuff but this is too nothing. the game is less than an hour at the very most, but has like half a dozen or so endings with about as many eldritch entities or concepts involved.  that's a problem, there's no real development or build up for anything. you just kind of go down a path and encounter the whatever that is involved, and it all happens or is resolved within a handful of sentences. it gives no time for anything, it introduces something and then it's already over. this would have been much better if it had just focused on something, anything.  instead, this…

I enjoyed it thoroughly.Right up my alley. Lately I've been feeling visual novel-ly so I binge those types of games. The weirder the better. I was not disappointed.
