Bring Me...

The anomaly trend has made quite the splash in horror gaming over the past year, but this one hits home on a personal level. In May of 2024, my father suffered a stroke that severely impacted his cognitive abilities and limited his mobility. As of writing this review, I (with much support from my brother) have become his full-time at-home caregiver. This game makes quite a statement in regard to the struggles of monotony that can come with a commitment such as this. There is a "sameness" to the day-to-day routine. It is an occasionally thankless responsibility, and comes with moments of uncertainty and frustration. [i]Bring Me...[/i] captures some of that inherent turmoil, and adds a delicious dash of unsettling and surreal horror. It is a highly enjoyable experience with excellent atmosphere, crisp realism in graphical representation, and some quality jumpscare moments that left me satisfied. Multiple endings encourage replay; I won't spoil the particulars of the gratifying experience, but I will say that the "bad ending" left me with a sensation of lingering dread. Don't play if you have motion sickness. This game will trigger it and trigger it hard. There is currently no way to turn off the head bobbing or motion blur.

This game is not messing around. Some of the anomalies are very sneaky and hard to spot (gamers dont look up, anyone?) I think including the sandwich making and pill selection mechanic adds a layer of complexity not seen in most anomaly spotting games. There's a lot of replayability here too, with multiple endings and many different sandwich ingredient options. IYKYK. Really the only thing I enjoyed in this one was my endless bread supply, no notable jump scares, atmosphere was alright, I couldn't bring myself to do another run. Still worth giving this one a play.
