Arcadia Fallen

I genuinely love this game more than anything. I am a huge visual novel fan. I am a huge open world and do what I want fan. While its not open world, I will say there's enough choices and personal flavor dialog that I am never bored. I love it so much that I completed it on ps4, then bought it on here so I could destress from classes while playing. Looking at the characters, I loved each and every one. Its a colorful cast with fantastic voice acting, and I adore them so much. While I do think Michael ended up as my favorite, it is so hard to choose. Mime is like an adorable little sister you want to protect. Michael and Victoria have incredible backstories that made me see both sides. Kaiden is incredibly knightly in my eyes. And his romance dialog is so sweet! And Ann.. my beloved Ann. I don't always agree with her, but I have fun with her whacky replies all the same. As for MC, as I said, its definitely made to fit the players preferred personality choice. But!! The voice actors did an amazing job. This is more of a linear vn than a romance game or otome. Great story in a very interesting world. The companions are well written with complete character arcs that you influence. The alchemy gameplay is simple at first and in all story moments but is suprisingly complex by the end. The potions don't actually do anything other than a handfull during story moments and thats fine but the last potion feels like it should do something, especially since the way you make it is unique. Most of the voiceacting is great with the exeption of some lines (especially male player va) that are very breathy but did not lower my enjoyment of the game. Worth the price in my opinion but on the higher end for the gameplay you get.

You can get people killed and traumatize a child if you want. Your earliest major decision is whether or not to poison a guy for being kind of rude.

This game was so good. The worldbuilding, the mechanics, the queer storylines!!! Highly recommend

The romance isn't anything to write home about, but the base story is fantastic. A genuinely intriguing story, great cahracters, good (temporary) found family vibes, interesting worldbuild, solid voice acting, and solid minigames - it's all there.
