✦ AI summary

OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 receives mixed reactions from players, with some praising it as a solid continuation for fans of the series and appreciating its additional activities and mod support, while others find the combat tedious, the writing uninspired, and the overall experience repetitive and unfulfilling. The game appears to appeal mainly to existing fans of the franchise rather than newcomers, though even some of those fans express fatigue with the grind and story progression.

This game kind of lulls you into that special brain-dead state where you're just tapping buttons in the hope that eventually something will be fun. It constantly teases at being a better game but never follows through with anything. The combat is so dull I was actively avoiding it, the writing is sort of 'enthusiastic 12 year old fan fic' level and there's no real development in any of the town or job mechanics. I persevered with this far longer than I should have. I need to question some of my life choices

Man I played 32 hours and all I can tell is the story sucks so far. Ofc I will finish the game, bought at full price, but every new quest feel like doing 2nd job after working 9 hours

A great sidestep of the series giving us some extra activities beyond following just 8 chars stories. If you enjoyed 1 & 2, this is a nice way to continue the feeling till 3!
