The game starts out absolutely wonderful, very creative game design in terms of gameplay, a great enemy variation and lots of little immersive ideas. The plot is catchy and the worldbuilding is closely inspired by tolkien. The combat is decent enough as well and i loved the gear progression that is also visible on the chars and in cutscenes. But apparently there was like no testing done whatsoever and no dev seemed to have played their own game because the last 3 missions are so next level bs and frustrating without limits that it utterly destroyed a lot of good willed patience on my side. After dozens of deaths on the dragon in the tunnel i still have no clue what to do there, and the entire encounter makes no sense whatsoever just after that HORRIBLE demon stone charging in the under world where tons of random clowns spawn in on Illius and constantly chunk your progress down im just done. This could have been a true gem that i would remember for quite some time, i got so excited getting into it but the game is borderline unplayable on normal difficulty and man i played hundreds and hundreds of game in my life before. Soulslikes are a joke next to this thing. On top of that it…

For those of you with decent rigs, you may find yourself having what appears to be resolution issues. These are, in fact, DPI scaling issues. And as the 2025 build defaults your display mode to borderless it causes your application to load incorrectly. My suggestion is to go into your window's display settings and change your Scaling to 100%. From there, you can load the game properly. You'll need to make the game load in Fullscreen in order to revert your scaling back to normal.

Extremely low effort port for a game that desperately lacks quality. You may see names like Patrick Stewart, Michael Clarke Duncan and R.A. Salvatore thrown around. Dispel any thought that this wasn't phoned in by literally everyone. That includes the people remastering this game who didn't even bother to move the .jpeg backgrounds around to hide them ENDING on 16:9 aspect ratio. You know: the most common aspect ratio! These realms are so forgotten they forgot to finish the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skybox. What a miserable successor to the Two Towers video game by the same developers.

It's old and feels like it. Just play Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance

One of my favorite games of all time, and this is a terrible version that doesn't do it justice. Too many technical issues for me, certain armor textures like chainmail shimmer brightly while being stretched and do not appear properly. Certain weapons and armor render as pure white, and sometimes turn the entire character model white. Frequent crashes and audio issues. I played this as a kid on PS2, I don't believe the song "Stand at Mithril Hall" the song for when you met the famous Drow Ranger and break the siege on Mithril Hall is supposed to play during the first level. I'm not certain on this but I think Stand at Mithril Hall was originally only used on the level of the same name and not across the entire first level at the very start of the game.
