Some things I liked about this 3D transition, and some I didn't. I think they managed to capture the abstract art style feeling pretty well, and the music and sound effects fit nicely too, especially with how weird and goofy the music appears and disappears, whether that was intentional or not. Overall, I think they did a decent job, although the visuals and the overall feel of the game could have used a bit more polish (was the low-resolution skybox and wall art also intentional?). There are also various bugs that slightly ruin the immersion. For example, you can walk through the wall in the red room with the faces, the color fountain sometimes randomly stops working, and there are a few visual glitches here and there. The puzzles themselves were mostly fine. However, some of them felt more like they were made to pad the game's length rather than be genuinely challenging, especially the cube and precision ring puzzles. That said, after completing the game, my overall experience was positive and I enjoyed it. A lore-wise successor to Leaves 1 and 2 and an again beautiful, atmospheric puzzle game. At heart 3D but (post-launch) with also a simpler 2D point-and-click mode modeled after Leaves 1 and 2 for those who prefer that style. Again very good puzzles -- if we agree to not call the ring/wire thing a puzzle... -- and I'd say overall slightly harder than the first two Leaves games. Takes easily 8 or more casual hours. Very much advised to any puzzle-gamer: beautiful and relaxing.

The graphics are gorgeous! The puzzles clever! The controls suck big time. The first two games just used the mouse. This game uses WASD and it's quite awkward. I spent 15 minutes trying to position a piece. I even resorted to a walkthrough. to make sure I was in the correct position. Still didn't work. Had to fumble around—one step left, one step right...over and over until it finally clicked into place. Really, really terrible controls and intensely frustrating.

Nice little game with some creative and original puzzle elements I have not seen before in the many puzzle games I've played. A few moments where something was required that wasn't obvious and felt unintuitive based on the game style up to that point such as [spoiler]Putting the tree fruities into the scanner and into the coloured paint(I'd already put them into their tree, where the game heavily hints to put them) [/spoiler]. A couple of times I had solved the puzzle but had 5-10 mins of repetitive tasks to do to get the result. Really nice down-tempo music. Liked the arty, almost art-deco, tribal aesthetics. Took me 9 hours with 2 tiny hints when stuck.

Loved the first 2 games but can't recommend this because it has too many flaws. Extremely difficult to play some puzzles because the mouse drag simply doesn't work. I should point out that most of the time I've spent playing is trying to get two particular puzzles to work, all to no avail.

This game is a much more complex game than either Leaves 1 or Leaves 2. If you like like somewhat difficult, obscure puzzles than you will enjoy this because there is quite a variety in the puzzle types and difficulty. There are points where you're simply scratching your head with 'what the heck is this' type questions and others that are more mechanical in nature. Overall I enjoyed this game very much. Although there is not a huge area to cover, lots of secret passages and obscure doors made me quite happy there was a map. Don't expect anything in the way of hand holding in where to go next or what to do with one saving grace. The developer has included a 'guide' on their website to help you progress. It doesn't solve the puzzles for you but gives you a bit of guidance as to what you should do. As well, in one of the trickier areas requiring some speed and dexterity, there was an option to skip it. I had a couple of issues with bugs where a particular puzzle did not behave properly (couldn't hear sounds that were necessary to solve the puzzle).
