✦ AI summary

Sad Virus Waterland is a budget platformer centered on collecting bottles in a water park setting that draws heavily from asset store materials. Players are divided on the experience: some find the chaotic jumping mechanics and quick playtime amusing, while others criticize the excessively dark level design that makes navigation difficult, awkward checkpoint placement that forces detours, and the overall quality as derivative asset mashups.

Even as far as the low standards of the Sad Virus franchise go, this particular title has a needlessly big level that's painfully dark to a degree you have to guess where the bottles might be. Towards the end of the level, there are no traps to use to respawn at the provided checkpoint, forcing extra detours. I guess the only positive I could highlight is that the framerate is relatively stable.

Warning: Asset Flip!
Sad Virus Waterland is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", Valkeala Software/Tero Lunkka, took the Sharur's Underwater Temple game assets from the real developers, Sharur, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work. This asset flip also contains the much-abused "Sucker Virus" character from PolyNext. Valkeala Software/Tero Lunkka has shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Sad Virus Castle" = Stylized Castle developed by AleksandrIvanov
"The Warrior Of Treasures" = [url=https://www.unrea…

Actual trash. $1 for a random mashup of Unreal Engine assets you can slowly walk through (literally). It's the same regurgitated slop over and over again.

An incredibly janky, fast-paced, and wonderfully chaotic budget platformer that breaths fresh new life into classic, meme-fueled asset flips! Stepping into the bizarre digital body of the Sad Virus to dodge deadly traps and collect scattered beer bottles across a vibrant water park map is every bit as hilarious and unpredictable as it sounds. The colorful 3D visual design and vertical arena layouts capture that magical, high-energy arcade parkour energy flawlessly. Balancing precision leaps on high-speed jump pads with dodging sudden instakill hazards and navigating dimly lit zones creates a frantic, rewarding, and deeply ironic gameplay loop.It is the absolute perfect, light-hearted single-player gem for a quick 15-minute reflex check, a fast laugh at indie absurdity, and a lightning-speed 100% Steam achievement sweep—all for the grand price of dirt cheap. A brilliant, tightly focused micro-adventure that is a must-play for anyone missing the golden era of experimental trash-gaming charm. Definitely recommended!

BY FAR the scariest Sad Virus game so far. This overtakes Sad Virus Horror by a huge margin. Only play if you're ready for whats to come. There will be sharks. There will be jellyfish. There will be spikes. I hope you can outlive it all and have the courage to find the beer bottles along the way... I'm also scared of the dark and the map has spooky music.... :o
