Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days

I have been playing Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days since release and I have enjoyed this game since it came out in demo before it hit it's real early access on Steam and I would like to continue playing but after the gut punch I received with the last update with Custom Scenarios I will not lie I feel like I have been robbed 100 hours of my life. I have unlocked most of the characters in my run already and now I am expected to run it all over again???

Fantastic game, and I say “game” as if it’s a complete product despite the fact that it’s still in Early Access with plenty more content to come. The tension in this game is absolutely spot on. Every scavenging run has that constant feeling that one bad decision could completely derail you, and the atmosphere does a fantastic job of keeping you on edge. The sound design, stealth mechanics and limited resources all work together really well to create that feeling of genuine desperation rather than just throwing endless zombies at you. I also really like the scripted moments. There have been several occasions where the game has genuinely managed to jump-scare me, which is something I wasn't expecting from this style of game. It isn't relying solely on cheap horror tricks either—the atmosphere and unpredictability of individual encounters do a lot of the heavy lifting. The story is another strong point. There are multiple ways to approach a playthrough, different survivors bring their own personalities and abilities into the mix, and the choices you make actually give you reasons to play through again. Like TWOM, but better. Challenging combat and survival mechanics, only downside I see is the hard difficulty, very unfair and unforgiving
