High Times - Dating/Cooking Sim

Really fun and cute game with great characters.

A heartfelt game full of deep conversations. The gameplay is nothing revolutionary, but it holds the story together well enough. Having said that, while this game isn't explicit, I'd avoid showing one's mother.

I give this game a TENATIVE yes for quite a few reasons. The gameplay itself is amazingly fun however the dating sim portion is OBNOXIOUS. I CANNOT stress how stupid it feels that practically EVERY SINGLE PERSON in this game is your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ex...There is NO creativity in that. AT ALL. I don't play dating sims much and maybe that is where I'm losing the point a little but after almost 40 hours of play I am ready to just stop. It forces you into decisions you don't like (for example the Yen "assistance" in the kitchen, I don't want my EX in my WORK kitchen and as much as I tried to make sure the options pushed toward a no, it still happened and I HATE that), some of the dialog is WEIRD (which I'm sure it was meant to be but...), and a lot of it feels disjointed. I enjoy making the donuts, I enjoy when they come in and ask for "a mood" and you have to kinda guess but the "dating" portion is just...no. So...as a donut making game, yeah lots of fun, but I don't recommend this to everyone.

This is definitely a fun game. I enjoy how many orders i can be loose with compared to other games that do the tavern/shop keep thing that tend to only let you make the same four combos for the most part. The characters are quite fun with MJ being the only one I don't really care for. I do wish though the dating options were more than just the mc's exes plus conner. Riri, Zoey, and Dexie are all ones i would 100% have multiple games for to date them if that ever becomes an update or dlc

It's a really addictive and interesting game. My one complaint is that the non-storyline progressive characters showing up gets annoying because they slow it down.
