Quick Score: 3/5 Notes: The gameplay itself is a solid albeit basic platformer, and there is a fair amount of content, but that is about it. The visuals are pretty bad, and the level design ranges from middle of the road to mildly annoying. The core mechanic of the game is hardly ever utilized or actually matters, that being the weight/health/size thing. As a result this also makes the gems or "collectibles" scattered around the levels mostly irrelevant except in rare cases. The game also has a scoring mechanic that serves essentially no purpose because there are no achievements for it and there are no score goals or leaderboards connected to it. If the game ever decided to introduce either IL score goals or a deathless type challenge, that would remedy the issue of the core mechanic and gems currently serving almost no real purpose. It would also massively increase replayability, I would strongly encourage the devs to do so. Overall though, in its current state, the game is just okay. I wouldn't put this anywhere near the top of your wishlist. but if you can catch it on a big sale or happen to find it in your library, its worth a play.5 found this helpful

The gameplay of this game flows super well and I have not encountered any bugs. The devs have done an awesome job on this one and deserve more visability and players enjoing this hidden gem! If you enjoy platformers this one wont dissapoint!2 found this helpful
Wonderful precision platformer. The health mechanic is unique and surprisingly impactful, the basic controls feel wonderful, and the level design is honestly superb. That this game is so unknown is an utter crime! Play it.1 found this helpful
Great game! Fans of Celeste and Super Meat Boy should enjoy Alkali! Interesting new mechanics, fun levels. Alkali is challenging but not over the top. I'm still working my way trying to complete the game but I recommend this game to anyone into precision platformers!1 found this helpful
