About Amaranthine Voyage: The Obsidian Book Collector's Edition
Big Fish Editor's Choice! This title was chosen for its high standard of quality and amazingly positive reviews from our Game Club beta testers.
A long month of waiting, rising tensions and utter silence has passed. The stakes are high, and the fate of the harmonium radiation research team is still unknown. The CCPP decides to send one of the best agents – you – to find out what transpired.
As you land on the frozen mountains of Iceland, a mysterious helicopter passes above you. CCPP didn't send reinforcements, and the question arises – did someone else find out about the important research of your scientific team?
As you traverse the narrow pathways and ice coated cliff sides, you will discover the findings of your scientists, and their conclusions will be borderline impossible. The investigation will pull you deeper into the research of harmonium energy, its possible uses… and abuses.
Prepare yourself for a journey that will change your life and your perception forever.

This is the fourth game of the Amaranthine Voyage series and the devs have maintained the quality of the 3rd game after a bad start. The first 2 games of the series are pretty mediocre and poor quality. The plot of this game was quite good, but with the usual megalomaniac wanting power for themselves. The graphics were quite bright and the HO scenes have improved significantly. These are mainly silhouette images and no morphing objects in this game. There were book collectables scattered in each scene and souvenirs to chase at the end of the game. Music was good and voiceovers were much better this time. You have a cute little gargoyle assisting you. There is one bug in the game. It is the glass window puzzle and the button for the red paint is not working. It is a known glitch as per Big Fish forum, but has never been fixed. You have to skip the puzzle which means you miss out on an achievement. Took only 6 hours to complete both main game and bonus chapter. Buy on sale. 7.5/1018 found this helpful
It is a fun game.2 found this helpful
This 4th entry in the series is a step up from the 3rd, but still not enough to be a good game. The story is more exciting—although it's still confusing; who are these characters exactly?—and there's more polish to the design and animation. But the gameplay can be frustrating as often the point-and-click adventure puzzles have no logic at all. You'll end up having to just try using all objects in your inventory with everything in the world until something works, and even then you'll be left scratching your head as to why. Will Eipix ever be able to restore the charm of the 1st entry in the series, The Tree of Life, or are we stuck with these confusing and illogical sequels? (Spoiler: it does not get better...) One very weird aspect of this game is that one of the characters has a face that looks exactly like human buttocks. I can't even.1 found this helpful
