About Ape Hit
In Ape Hit, players will step into virtual reality and take on the role of a newly hired Wrecking Ball Crane Operator. Demolition hungry players will be able to smash their way around 5 virtual job sites with each map packed full of wacky power-ups and destructible buildings. Take care to avoid any buildings outside of the job’s scope or your boss, an angry ape, will be furious!
Players will utilize 3 levers in an attempt to demolish multiple structures within each level. As players earn cold hard cash for the company power-ups will spawn including the highly coveted, giant Megaball! Once satisfied with the destruction, players can end their shift and move forward to the next work site. Should things go poorly on site there is always the PANIC! button...
Ape Hit was developed using the Unreal Engine 4 and is built for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality VR devices.

Игра 'Ape Hit' — это настоящий взрыв мозга и палец в глаз современным игровым трендам! Если вы устали от однотипных шутеров и прилизанных RPG, то эта игра — ваш личный обезьяний бунт. С первых минут тебя окунает в безумный мир, где логика отдыхает, а адреналин зашкаливает. Управление, кстати, настолько интуитивное, что кажется, будто ты сам превратился в разъяренную обезьяну, готовую крушить всё вокруг. Графика, конечно, не фотореалистичная, но своя, специфическая атмосфера создается на ура. А саундтрек... это отдельная песня, которая въедается в мозг и заставляет пританцовывать прямо за клавиатурой. Поначалу может показаться, что это просто хаотичное нажимание кнопок, но потом начинаешь видеть систему в этом хаосе, находить свои тактики и получать истинное удовольствие от каждой победы. 'Ape Hit' — это игра, которая не боится быть собой, и именно за это её и любишь. Рекомендую всем, кто готов к полной перезагрузке сознания!
"Ape Hit" is a failed, mostly asset flipped attempt to make some kind of "crazy" VR experience where you go postal as a demolition worker and trash things with a literal wrecking ball. All in low poly asset flipped glory. I wonder why it was a huge failure? Oh yeah, gamers hate asset flips. What do you do in the game? Drive around, smash a few Unreal Marketplace assets. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything …
