Apostle

Okay, this review is about to start with a very hot take, but I also feel it's very important to make sense of what I am about to say about this game: Apostle gave me a better experience than Persona 5. I know it seems like a wild claim, but it's not too unfounded. I understand it's weird comparing a mainstream game to a literal porn game, but it only makes it even more ludicrous when I consider this to be the better achieving media. Apostle is a JRPG set in a fantasy highschool setting where you manage your relationships and your student life with the ongoing supernatural plot. As far as the premise goes, it's direct competition with Persona, but I favor Apostle over P5 for a couple of reasons. Despite being a porn game, that does not mean the game is devoid of story, characterization, background, world building or any of the sort. Of course, because of the genre, you WILL find and be involved with a lot more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you'd have in a non-porn game, but the writers didn't skimp on the narrative for the sake of sex scenes. I did everything I could to see those two H scenes, and besides, the length of this gameplay... I could have finished God of War twice on the hardest difficulty instead of finishing this game. It's one of the biggest wastes of time of my life. Don't buy it, don't let anyone else buy it.

Apostle is a Persona kinda of game. The game progress and develope in the similar fashion. You wont be too disappointed if you treat this game as a serious game. In terms of the balance and enemy design, the game has its depth. the players are able to come up with different builds, team compositions, and paly patterns. Of course, the balacing between characters and abilities are very off, some are just way more powerful than others, but overall, within the 20 hours play time the battle system serve its purpose. The dengeons are not too long, with adjustable difficulty, so it never really feels like a chore to me. the side quests on the other hand are not well designed with very few exception. In terms of the Hentai part, the integration feels a little bit forced for many encounters, the overall CG qualitiy is good, but to unlock them you need to do muliple play through which is a bad design as the game can definitely fit more into a signle play through. Overall, for a hentai game with seirous gameplay, i would recommand this game to people who enjoy games like Persona. 7/10
