Tough to grasp initially but wow. deep system. keep it up!

Archon Soul: Prologue is one of those strategy games that made me want to keep experimenting because the deckbuilding idea is tied directly into the dice system. I play as a mage fighting through a dark fantasy palace, but instead of simply collecting cards, I am building powerful dice by changing their faces and combining them with different modifiers. I liked how much room this gives me to shape my own play style. The combat is turn based, with my spells and dice working together to create different effects. The interesting part is that I am not just choosing which abilities to use. I am also deciding how my dice should be constructed so that the results support the rest of my build. I enjoyed the feeling of finding a useful combination and then trying to make it even stronger through the next encounters. The run structure also works well. I choose my path through the palace, deal with enemies and events, then improve my build as I go. Some decisions are safer than others, so I found myself constantly weighing whether a risky route was worth the potential reward.
