✦ AI summary

Players praise ARKOS as a solid retro-shooter that successfully captures the spirit of early 90s dungeon crawlers, with some ranking it among the best in the genre and appreciating its focused, bite-sized level design. However, complaints center on balance issues in the final episode, where difficulty spikes significantly and force players to rely on weak weapons, leading to frustrating lengthy boss fights, though some players still found the game enjoyable enough to purchase the sequel despite these problems.

ARKOS, developed and published by RetroSouls, is a compact first-person fantasy shooter that proudly embraces the spirit of early 1990s dungeon crawlers while introducing a distinctive voxel-based visual identity. All around good game until you get to the last episode then it falls apart. It may of bugged but I had to use the weakest weapon for the final ep and I died to the last boss but I'm not wasting my time trying to beat it like that as 30 minutes fights are no fun. Hopefully the second game fixes this.
