Arms Race 2 is a turn-based strategy game based on the events of the Cold War between the Americans and the Soviets, spanning the 1950s through the 1990s. In just a few hours of gameplay, players will immerse themselves in five decades of contention, paranoia, secrecy, proxy wars, and the overarching "us vs. them" mentality.

AR2 has been graphically redesigned to provide an improved user interface experience. An interesting cold war domination that is quite entertaining as a short relaxation, the game mechanics are not difficult but the choice are challenging and still takes some time to understand, as investing all your budget on everything will not end well. [spoiler] Though the only thing that shows up when the game is complete is "You Win", which is a little bit disappointing [/spoiler]10 found this helpful
A very good game. I had the first game ' Cold war era- Arms race ' which was good but difficult to win. This is an updated version of that game and much better in my opinion. The game mechanics are essentially the same but there seems to be more tool tips and help explaining what you are supposed to do. It's not an easy game to win and you do need to take your time and analyse the world situation and formulate a plan whilst watching what the other side is doing. You do need to be patient, don't expect to win the game in the first few years. preparation is the key here, not going in all guns blazing. A great treatment of the cold war era. Give the demo a try, as I did, to see if it's worth getting if you played the last game or if you wonder if you will like it. BUT...you must give the game time to learn the mechanics of how it works. Once you have done that I believe the is a very good experience to be had here. Haven't found any bugs from my play and a very stable game. 8/10...after all...no game is perfect. Pretty good gamification of the cold war, your primary concern is managing your budget and keeping an edge on the opponent in technological advancement, keeping your bloc together, destabilizing the opponent's, and bringing neutral nations in to tip the balance. Takes the original formula and refines it, making it easier to understand and utilize the mechanics to your benefit. still some bits that could use explanation but ultimately it's a fun grand strategy experience that doesn't require a lot of micromanagement.2 found this helpful
This game is so bad... I paid about 1 buck for it, and have one game less on the wishlist. So not too terrible. But the game itself feels not logical at all. Honestly nothing made really sense for me.
