About Ashen Reverie
From an early age, strange shadows have appeared in your vision. They were harmless and easy to ignore, often fading in and out of your periphery. It was distressing at first, but over time they became nothing more than another part of daily life. Until one night, everything changed. The shadows have since grown more intense, more frequent, and show no signs of slowing down. After exhausting every rational explanation, you become convinced the source must be supernatural. What begins as a quiet trip to a local shrine turns into a chance encounter with a girl who claims to see the same things. It feels like you've finally found an answer… but her story doesn't quite add up.In Ashen Reverie, you're pulled into a mystery surrounding an event from ten years ago. The VN is only the first chapter thus far, and it takes around 1 to 2 hours to finish. It resembles Alpha Protocol or Uberich Advent Sinners in terms of relationship mechanics. The premise is that the player character is seeing weird shadows everywhere, and is now resorting to praying at a shrine after trying everything else. This leads to the MC meeting three of the characters in this VN, and they team up with figuring out how to handle the shadows. These characters are actually somewhat smart. They take notes, share important information, and plan things out for how to handle the shadows. It's far better than the usual "Let's walk around in a spooky school until something happens". There's also a notebook that records important events. Useful if you need to recall something. I'd say the game is worth checking out if you're into VNs. Steam sunk the game a few months ago due to some content issues, but thankfully, it managed to release.3 found this helpful
