About Attack of the Earthlings
Attack of the Earthlings combines turn-based combat and stealth in a dark comedic single player campaign, where you the player, take control of the native alien race to defend your home world from the invading humans.
Galactoil, a comically dysfunctional energy corporation, are hell-bent on harvesting the known universe for energy and will drill anything in its incessant quest to line its pockets with profit. However, their latest foray into energy exploration on Planet X13, has placed them into a bit of a pickle. The Swarmers, the native insectoid species, have another idea - to eat all the workers!
You take control of the Swarmers, a highly aggressive insectoid species, who must convert human flesh into alien muscle, upgrade their units and even find the time to gatecrash a birthday party.
To put a stop to the invasion, the Swarmers must plan attacks carefully. Take control of unsuspecting workers, set traps, emerge from vents and hiding spots to take your human prey by surprise, and assault in groups to kill multiple enemies at once.
The more earthlings killed, the more corpses can be consumed and transformed into new units with specialized roles and unique abilities. The flesh of their own workers is the key ingredient to developing a successful alien insurgency against Galactoil.
Voice actor and Vine extraordinaire, SungWon Cho A.K.A ProZD (A Hat in Time, Paradigm)\, lends his brilliant voice to X13 mining operation Regional Manager Dennis Dickinham; a man both massively unqualified and massively overpaid. A gregarious fellow who finds joy in everything, be it catching a few rounds of golf with the boys or rerouting power from sickbay to the massage chairs in the boardroom, Dickinham's a delight to be around! Just never, NEVER utter the phrase "bad idea" in his presence.
The game also features an original soundtrack by composer Mikolai Stroinski (Vanishing of Ethan Carter, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Blood & Wine).

Attack of the Earthlings is your standard, unserious "strategy" game of the late 2010s, where skill trees were as tall and complex as a branch, no enemy logic other than to either attack the nearest target or the last target that damaged it, and arbitrary gameplay mechanics like the grunts having little area of vision without the matriarch alien. It isn't so much strategy as it is simply a game of reloading saves when a cutscene plays at an inappropriate time or when a misclick occurs due to the terrible user interface and inconsistency of clicking a tile while having to constantly chain group attacks when enemies can one-shot the player's units and are on constant overwatch irrespective of their suspicion level. It is also worth noting that Junkfish Limited is asking $15 for a game that is nearly a decade old and offers only seven levels; this video game would have sold on mobile for $3.99 at the time.
For me this is a recommend , worth to buy on sale , fun mechanic and stories and the art
OMG an exercise in controller jank. Couldn't get past the tutorial as it was giving me agita.
I wish there were more games where you control an alien hive
it so cool :)
this game is one of those special games. with just a little bit of extra effort and the proper advertising, this is the kind of game that could make XCOM like games to a general audience. this game isnt good, its great. 2 things hold it back from being its best. short campaign, no player made content (or multiplayer). thus the people who are super into this genre already (and who would be its biggest champions), have little reason to give this game a second look after credits. this game is entirely tactical, easy to pick up, has a good tutorial (that barely feels like one), has a very reasonable skill floor, and really lets you push your skill limits (with points for bragginging rights). this game is for everyone, like ACTUALLY everyone. your grandma could probably play this, so mind if she doesnt mind a bit of dark/violent comedy (its tone is fairly light conisdering its subject matter). shame its current review count seems to indicate that only mostly the people heavily into this genre are playing this game. seriously, give it a shot
