Earth vs Mars

Like the switch's Wargroove, this is mostly a copy paste of Advance Wars, which is old enough now a lot of younger gamer won't know it. the only part original to it is splicing beast-people. It's a change, not great, not bad, just makes it a little different. If you like AW and Wargroove mechanically, then you'll probably like this one mechanically. The maps aren't as refined though. as for story, it's low quality writing but i don't think many people buy this type of game for the story anyway. Bigger problem is the blatant anti-male bent to it. 100% of good ideas come from the obviously superior in every conceivable way female characters, who are actively derisive toward the male ones.

A more than decent shot at an Advance Wars like game. Mechanically it functions like an advance wars with extra features which allow it to stand out among a sea of Advance Wars like games. [h3] Gameplay[/h3] As I said, mechanically the game has the same basics as AW as in capture with infantry, repair with cities, you win/lose on HQ capture or rout etc. Where it stands out is its implementation of unit abilities that give more of an identity to the unit than just "it deals more damage against X unit". Obviously the most outstanding being the spliced units which are special units you can customize with DNA from different animals to create the equivalent of a "hero unit" that has powers and abilities that dwarf even the most expensive units by far. However, spliced units aren't the only ones able to use special abilities as some of the generic units are also able to use special abilities to allow you to access a much wider variety of tactics to deal with whatever the enemy throws at you. A clear labour of love with some of it's own takes on the Advance Wars formula. A great time on the deck, though default graphics options are probably set a little too low.

Its fun and gives advance wars vibes. I wish they'd update it and make new units etc.

Very entertaining spiritual successor to Advance Wars. This is NOT xcom but that's okay! It's a fun casual game and I'm having a blast with it
