About Aviators VR
"Aviators VR" builds on the foundation of "Aviators," delivering an expanded gaming adventure. The experience is divided into two parts - arcade and educational. The arcade portion gives players a chance to control the upper turret gun of a Handley Page Halifax bomber to fend off attacks from German fighter planes. This highly realistic and immersive segment allows players to interact with the Boulton-Paul Type C Mk. II’s electro-hydraulic mechanism. The educational section lets players explore a virtual hangar of the Polish air wing at one of the British bases. Here, players can experience a guided audio tour, which walks them through the exhibits, such as the Handley Page Halifax bomber and the legendary Spitfire MK.VB manned by Jan Zumbach, while providing historical context for the arcade segment.

Dudes. This is not a game per se. This isn't student project also. This is an interactive experience made to honor 80th anniversary (1944-2024) of the PL squadrons from WW2. This is more like a digital monument and Institute of National Rememberance of Poland is the producer. And as Government organization it distributes this for free to cultivate knowledge amongst people of Poland mainly, although every other nations are welcome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njBz00e6pLg Comments about cheap, useless empty game are made by silly people who know nothing VR version is obviously poorer, because of scope creep, broken deadlines, optimization issues and multiple other factors. Projects isn't actively developed because it's not a game and nobody will make money on this. Believe me, I almost worked on this. But I missed the opportunity. That's how I know.17 found this helpful
"Aviators VR" is a student project from the Polish institute of... yeah I'm not going to try pronouncing that. This year the students did pretty good with the 3D modeling and failed every other aspect of game design. Let's break it down. What do you do in the game? Well, you don't do much. This is more like an interactive museum than a real game, as you take on the role of a turret gunner in a museum. No, the museum doesn't have turrets. The turret is on a plane in the museum. Ok? Anyway it's in VR, it's badly polished, it's very small and has limited gameplay or interest... one of those things that might as well be a Youtube video. Nice 3D assets though. The graphics in this game are really quite good, which at least makes the game look more appealing. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is…2 found this helpful
honestly thought there would be more content to this other than just a shot mission in the beginning then a very long history lesson through the rest. oh well.1 found this helpful
The 'game' part of it lasts 3 minutes, the rest is information about british aircraft under polish control. The information itself is good, very good and informative. however, the issue is The visuals are horribly blurry, and the vr stuttering is actually sickening. Make this flatscreen, it's sickening in vr.
I cannot recommend this game in this state. its fun when you figure out what you are supposed to do, there was no explanation though, for example, I was stuck on the moment when you have to slow down time to shoot down a fighter, and I was confused as to what I was supposed to do until I figured it out by accident. It also doesn't run very well, then again my pc doesn't quite fit the minimum specs, but there is no options menu for graphics and such. And it even crashed part way through. in this state, I do not recommend it, even if it is free, just go play the regular version which is also free
Even for free, this game is super bad. It claims to have 6 missions, yet it only has one, with a side of a museum that you would go to as a child. Seriously? Don't waste your space.
