Axe Cop

5/10 really needs voice acting, even if it is just for special moves and like 3 scenes also all the steam achievements are broken...

Very well made game using the O.H.RPG.C.E. ( : It has the nes vibe, music is on point, lots of cut scenes and mini games throughout so far. Not a huge fan of the rpg battles given the source but it works. Haven't finished it yet, there is quite a lot of content, with more added in post-launch updates. Lead developer is a cool guy, and definitely a fan of the comic. There is a lot of heart and thought put into this, maybe to its detriment as it does appear to stick very close to the source material and to a hard nes-like format. For example, if you ever forget the setup that this is from the mind/logic of a little kid brother, it can seem so bizarre in the twists and turns and character designs--but that's the charm. AXE COP!!

i honestly was going through my FB message requests and IDK how there was a steam key in there. I put that key in steam and someone gifted me this game. I have no idea when or who the person was, or what i did to deserve it. BUT HOLY F*** I LOVED IT I been playing it on my steamdeck and its amazing! Its a pokemon feel while playing with a dabble of final fantasy. Its so hard to explain but it got me hooked. I was away from my PC while traveling for a month and i had so much fun playing it. Thank you whoever it was that gifted it to me. Im forever grateful

Easily one of the best games I played this year (2026). Genuine punch to the gut to see how gems like this are very unknown The big thing here is fun. It has sections clearly inspired if not completely written by a kid that gave me so much nostalgia from how my brain worked exactly like that years ago. You just fantasize about random stuff thats cool to you. The game around it is just very good, rivaling things like Earthbound. Awesome leveling system, fun/wacky party members, tons of secrets in the world, genuine tough fights and I enjoyed almost all of it Ofc I wanna be open to talk about some criticism. My journey was sadly riddled with alot of bugs that are literally gamebreaking. I encountered a bug where my menu didnt pop anymore at all, another where a boss is just endlessly stuck in terrain. In general bosses have a dialogue after battle if you actually lose and then the game just freezes. You don't get to load, theres no Game Over, you just have to close the game and load again. Thankfully the dev is STILL super active and helped me fix things (awesome person) so I can easily forgive these things. Small critic would go to overall balance I guess, I dont mind random …

Its good, a loving homage to retro games, and lots of fun references. Pixel art is really pleasant. I'm really looking forward to beating this soon

When I started this game just over a year ago I knew nothing about Axe Cop or the story behind its creation. Thankfully this game does a fantastic job of showcasing every major storyline and character that ever appeared in the series while cleverly tying plot threads together to form a complete and satisfying story that'll appeal to longtime fans and welcome newcomers like myself to the crazy world of AXE COP! The art style for the overworld character sprites gives me major 'Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening & Oracle of Ages/Seasons' vibe and I love it! The game also has a treasure trove of content and a wonderful retro chiptune soundtrack though for the life of me I cannot find the music for this game anywhere on the web. All in all though this is a game made by genuine fans that love everything 'Axe Cop' and it shows BIG TIME. Red Triangle Games did the Nicolle brothers proud. If you enjoy RPGs; GET THIS GAME NOW!
