About Axe Cop

In 2009, two brothers, Malachai (age 5) and Ethan (age 29) Nicolle, created the comic book, Axe Cop. Over the years, the brothers pitted Axe Cop and his team of strong fighters against the most deadly, disgusting, and horrifying bad guys that their imaginations could come up with. In celebration of over ten years of Axe Cop, we are proud to present the official Axe Cop Game!

Play as Axe Cop and his team in this classic retro RPG! Take on challenging missions against his most devious enemies such as Bad Santa Claus, Dr. Stinkyhead, Dr. Doo doo and more! The Axe Cop Game is great for casual and hardcore RPG gamers alike, offering plenty of strategy, quests and story for any gamer to sink their axe into!

After Axe Cop finds his axe at the scene of the fire, he'll meet up with Flute Cop and his career as the most epic hero begins. Once he recovers a mysterious machine, capable of turning any bad guy into a good guy, he and his team of heroes are convinced that they can stop all bad guys once and for all with it. But they must hunt down three magic gems to power it up. Along the way, Axe Cop will face off against his most diablocal rogues and visit some of the most dangerous locations from his comic book history, a volcano full of dinosaurs, the insides of a giant monster, even London itself! The bad guys are teaming up and will not be making it any easier for Axe Cop to find these magic stones.
  • COMBAT: Traditional turn-based gameplay. Characters learn moves and power up based on decisions you make with their stats on each level up.
  • ABILITIES: Each hero on Axe Cop's team has a unique ability in the field. Axe Cop can chop and break most cracked items, Flute Cop can interact with magic statues, Sockarang has a remote control sock boomerang. Every character offers something different to every level.
  • CAMEOS: Odds are if Ethan Nicolle drew a character, they are likely in the game. Some of them even he is surprised are in the game, such as the obscure El Fuego (a wrestler who was turned into a potato).
  • STORY: The game is a celebration of every comic the Nicolle brothers made together. Representation from every single published book is featured in the game, whether as full main missions or side content.

5/10 really needs voice acting, even if it is just for special moves and like 3 scenes also all the steam achievements are broken...

Very well made game using the O.H.RPG.C.E. ( : It has the nes vibe, music is on point, lots of cut scenes and mini games throughout so far. Not a huge fan of the rpg battles given the source but it works. Haven't finished it yet, there is quite a lot of content, with more added in post-launch updates. Lead developer is a cool guy, and definitely a fan of the comic. There is a lot of heart and thought put into this, maybe to its detriment as it does appear to stick very close to the source material and to a hard nes-like format. For example, if you ever forget the setup that this is from the mind/logic of a little kid brother, it can seem so bizarre in the twists and turns and character designs--but that's the charm. AXE COP!!

Its good, a loving homage to retro games, and lots of fun references. Pixel art is really pleasant. I'm really looking forward to beating this soon

When I started this game just over a year ago I knew nothing about Axe Cop or the story behind its creation. Thankfully this game does a fantastic job of showcasing every major storyline and character that ever appeared in the series while cleverly tying plot threads together to form a complete and satisfying story that'll appeal to longtime fans and welcome newcomers like myself to the crazy world of AXE COP! The art style for the overworld character sprites gives me major 'Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening & Oracle of Ages/Seasons' vibe and I love it! The game also has a treasure trove of content and a wonderful retro chiptune soundtrack though for the life of me I cannot find the music for this game anywhere on the web. All in all though this is a game made by genuine fans that love everything 'Axe Cop' and it shows BIG TIME. Red Triangle Games did the Nicolle brothers proud. If you enjoy RPGs; GET THIS GAME NOW!

i honestly was going through my FB message requests and IDK how there was a steam key in there. I put that key in steam and someone gifted me this game. I have no idea when or who the person was, or what i did to deserve it. BUT HOLY F*** I LOVED IT I been playing it on my steamdeck and its amazing! Its a pokemon feel while playing with a dabble of final fantasy. Its so hard to explain but it got me hooked. I was away from my PC while traveling for a month and i had so much fun playing it. Thank you whoever it was that gifted it to me. Im forever grateful

I've only just started in Axe Cop, but I certainly feel like I can give it a solid recommendation. It has an amazing chiptune soundtrack, excellent pixel art, and a pretty entertaining combat system. I do think Navigation is a bit on the difficult side at times, as currently I'm on the evil Santa Claus level with no real idea of where exactly I'm supposed to go. Now, I'm also going through ab out of insomnia and it's pretty difficult to figure stuff out when your mind is just straight up exhausted.. So it's probably a me problem. The game does reward you for exploring, especially with the different characters you can choose from. I really enjoyed this aspect of the game. The game follows in the exploits from the webcomic. While you don't have to be familiar with the comic, I do think it'll add some enjoyment to the experience if you are. I'm somewhat familiar with it, as I've certainly seen it at some point in the past. I had to look it up again to see how much of my memory is accurate. Some. Not a bunch. But, in any case - if you're a fan of the webcomic this game is perfect for you. The writing is humorous, well written, and has some pretty great moments so far. All s…
