This is a strange one. On one hand, I can't say I didn't enjoy it at all, but on the other - I can't bring myself to recommend it, because the game doesn't deliver what it seems to be promising at all. To start with the good stuff: - It's beautifully drawn and very pleasant to loot at. - It has lovely music - and for the length of the game surprisingly wide variety of it. Next, here are the things I'm mostly meh about: - The writing wasn't bad, but it didn't really work for me. The narrative starts off as wistful and melancholic, and then you meet all those whimsical characters who somehow turn out to be very plain as soon as you start talking to them. Like, you were whisked into a dream realm, wandered through the mystical grove to the moonlit meadow, and there you met him: your neighbor Fred, walking his dog (but in a slightly cryptic manner). Additionally I didn't feel like characters have any real distinction in their writing and dialogue - though it turns out that was a part of a much bigger issue I'll touch upon later. - The story itself felt not very well paced. You start off spending the first third of the game going about your day making a lot of fairly inconsequential …

Wow, what a gem of a visual novel! I anticipated the typical Otome experience, but what I got instead is a surprisingly deep and unpredictable story set in a truly enchanting world filled with equally enchanting inhabitants. And what an emotional rollercoaster this game is! I am still grappling with what it made me do. Ness, I love you. If you somehow can read this, please forgive me! One of the best visual novels I have played to date! PS: Steam says this game is not compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina or higher but I had not problems playing on macOS 14.3.1 Sonoma.

I had the absolute pleasure of testing Banishing You before release, and it was such a fun experience. Wholesome? Check. A fun and intriguing story? Check. Gorgeous art? Double check. The game starts off nice and slow, but stick with it, because the branching paths lead to some fantastic endings. The story has a nice mix of humor and mystery, and the romance is just the right level of cheesy. But the main highlight of course is NOHT. Mysterious, sexy, and living in my head rent-free. 10/10, would get banished again.

A truly magical, almost ethereal visual novel about finding your own strength along with some romance, with beautiful music and a simple, enchanting art style. Not one to be missed.

1. Beautiful, Mesmerizing Art and Gorgeous Characters 2. Beautiful music 3. Beautiful story and very beautiful writing 4. There are five romance paths. 5. I think Lesan's route is amazing if you do what he says and I'm not saying that in a weird way you'll figure it out no spoilers. 6. There is a villain character, a beautiful and nice character, a glamorous character, a Prince Charming type character, and I don't know how to describe the other one. I hope you buy this game and support this developer. I'm in tears, what a beautiful and brief journey in one playthrough, and you can make your playthrough however you want bad, good, fearful, or brave, etc... 7. Complete game with achievements that are satsifying and a brief but a fanciful, fairytale otome that deserves a place with one of the best of its kind! Recommended: TashioxAlice, Dandelion, the other one by the same developer about dolls (forgot name), and Little Goody Two Shoes, and the Music is dead (game about rock singers)
