Loved it! The portrait and cutscene art is so charming! And was very impressed with the background art, the gameplay feels very intuitive and consistent, so its easy to pick up fast. Level design was all around really great, platforming feels nice and responsive. Great music all around, especially the boss fight music. For the price this is more than worth the money <38 found this helpful
A stylish but brief platformer where air-dashing and the style mechanic take center stage, focusing more on navigating tricky platforming than fighting enemies. You play as David, a laid-back guy cruising down the road in a sleek red sports car, under a clear, star-filled sky with an ‘80s soundtrack setting the mood. But out of nowhere, an ominous castle materializes directly in your path, and you crash right into it. The bad news is that the castle belongs to Dracula, and he claims your car as payment. But the good news is that you’ve got the skills to get it back. The controls stick to the standard platformer setup, and they’re simple and intuitive with no complex inputs. You can move, jump, dash (including air-dashing), and attack. Everything feels tight and responsive, so if you’re struggling, it won’t be because of the controls. Gameplay focuses on pure, no-frills action. There’s no exploration, no hidden secrets, no collectibles, and no ability upgrades. The journey through Dracula’s castle is entirely linear, filled with rooms combining platforming and combat. You can go back to a previous room, but there’s no reason to do that. The platforming ramps up quickly. You'll s…4 found this helpful
Video review: https://youtu.be/GfaxmbbQhxc TL:DR Bloodmoon rush is a fantastic platformer that has a nice castlevaniaish vibe but moves at a much faster pace with the emphasis on platforming over combat, it is a little short but an absolute blast from start to finish.3 found this helpful
I haven't finished the game yet, but I am so impressed with what I have played so far. The artstyle is really charming, and the characters are super cute!! Unfortunately though, I have encountered a bug where after David is out of lives, instead of respawning at the check point, he just respawns where I previously fell on the spikes (I am not the best at platformers eheh) and he appears dead, and the dash-jump combos wouldn't be working. I don't know if this continues to be an issue after the dungeon chapter, but that's where I am so far, and the bug has been hindering my progress a bit. Regardless, I think it's super fun and would love to try more!2 found this helpful
Overall 🌟 very cool 🌟 but it is lacking gameplay polish and animation punch, and feels unfairly punishing at times. Had a blast playing the NGA version, and you clearly deserved the awards you got, but I see you still haven't fixed some of the more glaring issues from that version 😅 It's still 🌟 very fun 🌟 in spite of its good ol' jank though! Less briefly:

music rocks
cool movement
mostly good levels
great art
funny wizard
hot dude
eighties anime vibe checks out
OH HO HO HO HO HO
And various quirks:

you visibly teleport one character height when going up/down the top of a ladder - please fix, it feels majorly janky
animations like the slam of pistons and robot fists feel too slow (and linear?) - they need more impact
invincibility time is not long enough to e.g. escape stalking ghosts, and taking one hit often results in several subsequent hits that you can't feasibly avoid once you've made the first mistake
speaking of mistakes, the instakill falls that appear in the final stages feel like the epitome of punishment, and when combined with one-tile width platform…1 found this helpful
the art style and music are great but the gameplay is unpolished. Certain level are designed well but can be timed in a way that can force you to loose progress. There are some mechanics that are not explained until you have already ran into them. not sad that i bought it but wouldn't recommend it to a friend.
