buggy at times and has one big flaw that can ruin your save file (blessing of Will can not be turned off and makes all your attacks cost double do not get it) but overall an incredibly fun game, no bugs were gamebreaking and I really enjoyed my time with it my only real flaw is that enemies never attack your partner

Born of Bread is an... interesting title, baseline it's a RPG that surrounds itself with a number of beautiful scenes and a colorful cast of characters that bear a touch of humor with every member. I think if you want to play an Indie Game that has a fair amount of puns and adventure in a single run I think this is a fine choice! .....That said it would only really rate a 4/10 from me personally due to a lot of issues regarding the entirety of the project. I've played a number of RPG and Paper-Mario Likes (which feels the most similar in theme) and I totally understanding how they strive to create their own identity, but it suffers from starting an idea and never really following up on it. Frankly it feels like the game got rushed and shoved out the door all of a sudden? This'll be a long review. I'm going to keep it pretty vague to avoid major spoilers, and I do understand this game is designed for a younger audience. Actual bugs crop up a lot in this game, like using consumables would regularly cause a softlock that required jiggling through random commands to escape alongside non-intuitive controls (for the keyboard) amidst false instructions every so often (such as the ch…

Game has a lot of oversights and borderline bugs. Balance is odd too, you only deal 1 damage with every hit, or 2 with a special, so every fight is a total slog.

It's very nice, it's very cute. The game has some Paper Mario vibes, the world is colorful, there are some nice puns and funny moments. All in all it's really great. Some parts of the platforming were a bit bull, but you can turn off environmental damage. Sometimes the backtracking gets a bit ridiculous. I must admit, tho that I'm disappointed by the bugs I met, a lot of them known for a while and not patched. Some, like the sewers camera zone issue, I understand not fixing, but there are a few softlocks and one achievement-blocking bug. If you play on controller you can't access some parts of the UI (can't access the right page of the book in the journal, generally fine, but you miss some info [spoiler]and can't unequip the special boons[/spoiler]) and the [spoiler]hook ability of Alfie[/spoiler] behaves super weird, snapping into place.

Great RPG. Some minor bugs every now and then but nothing that hinders the fun. Sometimes the story feels a little fast in regards to pacing of events. 6.5/10
