Mid-Century USSR Championships follows the same exact format as the prior early century game, but with games and puzzles from later on. There really isn't too much difference, so my same gripes still apply to this one as the prior one. I still don't like how some puzzles lacked further explanation or any sort of free play mode so that I can actually understand why some things are the way they are. There were a handful of positions that I still didn't understand well after the explanation.3 found this helpful
All of the games in this series I have played so far are an absolute delight, and I highly recommend this to beginner chess players as the 'hint' system is very useful but doesn't give the whole answer away.1 found this helpful
Another BOT.vinnik game. Definitely worth the price if you like chess and history of it.
Mid-Century Chess to Impress!
Again, great puzzles, lots of variation, and explanations to why the moves were nice (ex. pawn promotion unavoidable etc.).
Nice game, one hour to complete.
