BOT.vinnik Chess: Early USSR Championships

This whole series of games lacks a lot of things you would expect from chess "puzzle" games, and the issues still persist here. I do think that the Early USSR Championships is a much more interesting game than some of the other prior ones, as it presented puzzles/situations that required more thought. However, it also didn't really allow me to run through different scenarios of moves, as a lot of times the outcome was not a forced series of moves. A free play mode post puzzle or some more in depth explanations would have been good. There were a few scenarios where I didn't really understand why the opponent made certain moves in response to my moves.

Pretty fun chess puzzles from real games and a useful hint button with a nice UI :)

Another BOT.vinnik game. Definitely worth the price if you like chess and history of it.

The game contains some sequences from games of various popular chess players. Each of the players is introduced with some anecdotal knowledge and then follows the usual finding of the best move in particular match scenarios. With the fact that these are matches between professionals that Hint button might come in handy. Having played the expected sequence it is again pretty much clear as to why these were the best choices - the game even features explanations, and in case the opponent has resigned you continue what would have happened, get explained what would have happened with another choice. I personally thus think this is pretty much nice didactic. Make sure to play the earlier released ones of the series first (at least if you are not a chess pro).
