Call of Cthulhu®: Dark Corners of the Earth

Don't Buy this Game on Steam. Only On GOG it's the fixed Version. https://www.gog.com/en/game/call_of_cthulhu_dark_corners_of_the_earth They will Never fix this Game on the Steam version. but yet they keep a price tag for it. :/ Shameful.

Great game so far (played only the first hours) As a Lovecraft fan, it really captures the foul, dark and creepy atmosphere of his tales. As for the plot, it's basically a so-far-well-done mixture of The Mask of Innsmouth (really well reconstructed) and The Shadow out of Time. Very recommended to Lovecraft fans! P.S. I played Call of Cthulhu 2018 and yes, it's a nice game and it has fun gameplay, but Dark Corners of the Earth does a better job in putting Lovecraft Tales into a videogame. And also, every potato pc can run this!

Two problems combined to make me give up on this. If just one problem was there or none, I probably would have finished it. The first problem was that the puzzle styles are very restrictive; you have to do exactly what the puzzle expects you to do. I found that frustrating. I could have pushed through but, as I was getting frustrated with puzzles, it'd sometimes crash... just straight up vanish from my screen. (Windows 11 low-end gaming system from a couple of years ago, runs most of my games just fine, can't run, say, Cyberpunk 2077, but this game ain't Cyberpunk 2077.) With just one of those problems, I'd finish it. With both, nope. The mood & visuals of the game are good, & I was enjoying the story until I was too frustrated to put up with it.

If you're a fan of atmospheric horror, this game is an absolute masterpiece! Even after all these years, "Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth" delivers an experience that few games have managed to match. The atmosphere is incredible. Innsmouth feels genuinely oppressive, mysterious, and unsettling, and the sense of dread never really goes away. Instead of relying on cheap jump scares, the game builds tension through its world, sound design, and storytelling. You constantly feel like something is wrong, and that's exactly what makes it so unforgettable. The story is one of the best Lovecraft adaptations ever made. It captures the feeling of cosmic horror perfectly, slowly revealing terrifying truths that kept me hooked from beginning to end. The famous hotel escape sequence alone is worth experiencing, it's one of the most intense moments in gaming history. I also loved that combat isn't the main focus. You're vulnerable, your character can panic, and sometimes the smartest option is simply to run. It makes every encounter feel meaningful and keeps the tension high throughout the adventure. It's always crashing.

Game crashes at prolog, i have spend few hours trying to find solution and nothing worked. it says i have 30 min in it its bevauses i got crashed evety 10 sec at trapptor. i have spend 3 hours trying to make it work and i could not. Its one of my favourite games its shame i cant play it.
