A fun little platformer. Enjoyed my time messing around on it.

Boring and repetative. The idea is interesting but it's not well enough made to get a positive review

You're tasked with raiding containers floating in space. Once you pull them in they create a maze you need to navigate. I didn't enjoy it, neither the platforming or combat was enjoyable and the one song that plays really got on my nerve.

Unfortunately, a Steam update from years ago broke this game for me. It refuses to start, saying that Steam needs to be running, even though it is.

Cargo Commander is a surprisingly addictive roguelite platformer that pulled me in way longer than I expected — there's something genuinely compelling about magneting in containers, looting them while dodging mutants, and scrambling back to your ship before the wormhole swallows everything. The sector system is clever: any name you type generates a persistent, shared world, so you're competing on leaderboards with strangers and occasionally stumbling across their corpses to loot. The dark humor running through the corporate emails and family letters gives the game a melancholy soul that most budget indie titles don't bother with. That said, hunting down all 88+ cargo types starts feeling like a grind well before you're done, and with only a handful of enemy types and weapons, the gameplay loop doesn't evolve much past the first hour. If you go in expecting a chill, pick-up-and-play loot collector with some rogue charm rather than a deep action game, you'll get your money's worth — especially on sale.

Being one of the first games i ever got when i first arrived on steam, i can confidently say that it's worth the humble five dollar price
