About Chernobyl: Simulator
Chernobyl Simulator puts you in the control room of the most infamous nuclear power plant in history. Step into the shoes of a Chernobyl reactor operator, where every switch, gauge, and decision matters. Experience the pressure, responsibility, and unforgiving complexity of Soviet-era nuclear operations. You will manage the systems of Reactor 4—core, thermal output, water flow, turbine load, safety mechanisms, and more—while navigating authentic procedures based on real historical documentation. As the situation escalates, you must react quickly and precisely. One wrong move can set off a chain reaction that spirals out of control.
Key Features
- Authentic Nuclear Power Plant Simulation
Operate detailed and realistic reactor systems modeled after the RBMK-1000 design. Understand how each subsystem interacts and how your actions affect the reactor. - Dynamic Scenarios & Emergencies
Start with routine operations, then face unexpected complications—from minor fluctuations to catastrophic failures. - Historical Atmosphere
Immerse yourself in the iconic 1980s Soviet industrial environment with carefully recreated interiors, equipment, and documentation. - Learn How a Nuclear Reactor Works
Master complex engineering systems through interactive tutorials, guided procedures, and hands-on experimentation. - Multiple Endings
Will you maintain stable output? Cause a near miss? Or witness the plant push past the point of no return?

Blew a control system tank, tasted metal, 3.6/15000 not great not terrible...3 found this helpful
I found a tiny, meaningless immersion flaw! the background hum is 60Hz hum, for soviet Russia, it should be 50Hz hum, slightly lower pitch. love the game!3 found this helpful
Theres a minor bug but im not sure if theres a fix, when going up the stairs in the adjacent room, on the second or third steps you get stuck. Jumping does not help. Otherwise this game is neat! needs more tho thats for sure.
If you're into realistic simulators and you've always been curious about what it was like to control this beast of a reactor from the operator's point of view, this is a game for you. The flashy marketing does not fairly represent how serious this simulator really is. Still a work in progress with very impressive updates planned, and based on what I have seen so far on the reactor control panel and the detail included, this is the real deal. You can begin to understand for yourself the challenges faced by the operators of this reactor, balancing axial/radial neutron flux distribution across a core this big while staying within the parameters of the safety systems. You'll understand how exactly the operators controlled this reactor via the different automatic control groups such as ARM, AR1, AR2, and LAR/LAZ, and the challenges involved in activating them safely. You'll also see for yourself the impact that a single control rod movement can have on the rest of the core, with even a single manual rod being moved by so much as a meter being able to suppress or enable criticality. One wrong move at the wrong time and you can find yourself trying to stabilize the reactor again for th…
Looks very promising on the surface, however there is a long way to go to make this truly enjoyable. While the core reactor mechanics are present and very well polished already; all non-reactor elements (water pumps, deaerators, steam drum, etc) are missing. We _do_ have preparations and some mnemonic displays are already there, so it looks very promising!). There are not a ton of details on the simulation quality and accuracy compared to other RMBK simulators out there. But the graphics and immersion are the best out of all of the simulators out there already. Giving strongly recommended, just because this looks really promising and I would love to see this game progress. It even works on Linux using GE-Proton-11 :). If the developer needs help proting this to Linux native proper, feel free to contact me.
