CHRONO CROSS: THE RADICAL DREAMERS EDITION

+No technical issues whatsoever (though the lack of proper 16:9 is slightly uncomfortable). +Interesting nostalgia trip for its time. +Stellar soundtrack. ~The RPG gameplay loop is OK, though it feels stupidly simple and low-stakes in the early game. ~The graphics look more interesting watched than played through, though not a negative as they still gripped me. -Slow pacing with a bit too much of an open world. -Repetitive monster design. -I thought this was going to be an epic tale, but so far, it's just scenery, fetch quests, and random villagers. Overall verdict: This game is a flat neutral to me, but I choose Not Recommended because it's very experimental for the genre's expectations and people need to know what they're getting into. I have mixed feelings, but I might come back to it once I'm more seasoned in the the RPG genre, or I might not. It's going to the back of my backlog. NOT RECOMMENDED IF you want a solid, no-frills JRPG. RECOMMENDED IF the nostalgia and historical footnote can carry some of the bogged down pacing or you do in fact like that style of pacing (it's more cozy game with action elements than pure action game).

Honestly one of the best RPG's of all times. The story is incredible. I understand most peoples complaints about it though. Parts of it get a little convoluted, and honestly the main parts of it don't make much sense, BUT how the story is told is immaculate. The start, all the way up to the spoiler part are incredible, the different branching paths, with all the different characters give replayability and sense of nonliniarity. Even after the spoiler part, the story keeps on rolling and keeps me intrigued. It's not until the very last part of the game does the story start to get really convoluted and loses me. You can tell that they wanted to make a Chrono Trigger sequel, but because of the fact the characters could time travel, they had to do a whole separate world thing, and how they had to try and tie it all together was waaaaay to complicated. Character wise, I actually like most of the characters. I admit that a lot of them don't really shine due to not a lot of screen time, but most of the characters have something to do with the story and intrigue me at least. And from a game play perspective, I love all the options for my party, and I love going out and finding characte…

Un excellent jeu, mais un portage faignant et immonde. Complètement irrespectueux du materiau d'origine. Une honte sauvé en partie par les moddeurs
