Clash of Puppets

This is a mobile ported 3D platformer/brawler with a cartoony/classical horror theme. Control a redneck cartoony dude who falls asleep at a drive in and dreams about having to fight monsters. I think it says a lot about this game that there's an achievement for jumping for the first time and only 24% of the people who own the game actually played it that far. While there is support for 4K, the consoles are fixed and stupidly mapped. The developers who made this never used a PC with a mouse before, so forget mouse control. And of course like every terrible mobile dev, greed rules over all along with spite for PC gamers. $5 US on Steam, but less than $3 on Google Play. Screw these guys.

No save/checkpoint system within a level. If being forced to repeat the same series of boring jumping/dodge puzzles time and time again only to reach a battle and get endlessly stunlocked by two vampires while Frankenstein pummels on your helpless puppet is your thing, then by all means give this a go. I didn't care for it.

The game is awful. An obvious bad port of a mobile game. There is nothing that I could say good about it, but the bad... oh there is a lot that is bad. *Unresponsive double jump that you have to fight to get to work (yes, I'm using a keyboard) *Speaking of keyboard. If you don't use a controller you can't change your key bindings on the keyboard and are stuck with crap controls. * Combat is just button mashing. * Enemies in combat will regularly stun lock you. You will have seven enemies beating on you at the same time. All performing combos, and you can't move, attack, jump or do squat. *The game is made up of three worlds with all assets and enemies just re-skins of assets and enemies you fought and dealt with in world one. *There is only one boss and you fight him three times for each world. same skin, same model, same attacks. Only the arena changes. *Level layouts are extremely simple and basic with little or no thought or care put into their design. *Levels love to pad themselves out by having you pull a lever that opens a gate way at the start of a gauntlet of hazards and jump-puzzles. Only to have that lever open a door to another lever that has you do it again. In one…
