Contact : Last Defence

I was involved in the beta testing for this game, which is why I received it for free. The game runs super smoothly, both on my desktop with a 1080ti, and on my laptop with a 1060. The way that difficulty increases with each level, you both have more and more things (asteroids, a variety of enemies, power-ups) to focus on, and a larger quantity of each of those things in quicker succession, which makes the game pretty fun and varied and requires strategy. The replayability comes from all the times you might die and have to rethink your approach, and in addition to the 10 levels (plus training) there are different difficulty levels which can make each level a completely new and more challenging experience. There's also the arcade mode where you try to stay alive as long as possible by defeating a never ending stream of enemies. The strategy to this game has two major parts. There is the situational strategy where you need to decide on the fly which enemies or asteroids to prioritize to minimize damage to yourself and the planet. This is a fun little game. It's like the old classic Asteroids (one of my favourite vintage games), but now in VR. The gameplay was smooth and the sound effects of the guns were nice and juicy.
