About CROSSBOW: Bloodnight

In the year 1139, the Second Council of the Lateran convened by Pope Innocent II has pronounced anathema on the use of crossbow. The council saw its unstoppable power as ungodly, demonic by nature. They were not entirely wrong.
The Coven of Crossbow, an ancient order of hunters sworn to guard the balance between the forces of heaven and hell prevailed against all odds. In the year 1666, as fire and plague ravage London, the Coven is facing its greatest challenge yet. The Ancient Horror from Beyond makes its way towards our reality. In its wake, legions of nightmare creatures spawn in the darkness. The Bloodnight is upon us, let the hunt begin!
Features:
- Arcane Crossbow with various shooting modes, further empowered by siphoned spirits of your prey
- Fluid, skill-rewarding movement mechanics with dashes, jumps, and bunny hops
- Devastating special attack that takes time to recharge and is best used in strategic moments
- Instant respawn button and fast respawn after death, so you can stay immersed in the game
- Six enemy types in two variants, endlessly flooding the night-clad courtyard of the old, desecrated abbey that becomes the arena of your struggle
- Global leaderboard system so you can compete against friends and strangers
- Full controller support

Arcade-style FPS arena shooter where you fight hordes of demons with an automatic crossbow, trying to survive as long as possible and achieve the highest score ✅Good graphics ✅Dynamic pace and a fluid movement system (dash and bunny hopping) ❌No character development system, weapons, or skills ❌Very high difficulty, even a single touch by an enemy ends the game (primarily due to the negative review) ❌The lack of a gradual increase in difficulty means that the game is very demanding from the start The crossbow is not suited to a dynamic arena shooter; it is too slow and has low firepower ❌Overlapping enemy sound effects make it difficult to hear important signals ❌The game only has two small arenas ❌The price is too high for this game ❌❌ Verdict: [strike] Terrible [/strike], [b] Bad [/b], [strike] Mediocre [/strike], [strike] Decent [/strike], [strike] Good [/strike], [strike] Very Good [/strike] (Rating scale for tested game) [quote] If you'd like to see more of my reviews, you can find them on my curator page:[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45994324/admin/reviews_manage/]CuratorKingViking[/url] and on my group: [url=https://steamcommunity.com/groups/CuratorKingViki…11 found this helpful
Muuuum, I want Devil Daggers, I want it now! Honey, we have Devil Daggers at home. *Devil Daggers at home: Werewolf edition*6 found this helpful
Firing pattern is random Enemies have broken and unreliable hitboxes, they can one-shot you after you have killed them Enemies can spawn right behind you and you will not know because they lack sound barks Enemies can creep on you and you will not know because they don't emit any sound to identify their position Enemy attacks don't emit any sound, making it impossible to predict or dodge their attacks Firing explosive bolts is awkward, you have to hold FIRE2 for a few seconds, then press FIRE1 The hitbox of the explosive bolt is not reliable, sometimes you can one-shot one of the bulbs, sometimes it doesn't register even though you hit it directly in the eye of the bulb The health meter is a blood texture on the screen, it is not a reliable way to see how much health you have The special ability doesn't kill enemies behind you Damage feels random, sometimes you die to a weak enemy, sometimes you survive an attack from a stronger enemy, it is not predictable There is no sound or visual hint to inform you when the dash is available The game starts lagging every time you use the special ability to destroy 30+ enemies at the same time, you have to alt-tab to fix it The play…3 found this helpful
Games are our favorite way of ritualizing the absurd: we arm ourselves with something ridiculous, step into the arena, and dance with death for high scores while pretending it reveals something about the soul. Crossbow: Bloodnight gets the ritual dead right. It’s a frantic score-attack arena shooter that feels like Devil Daggers reimagined through a 17th-century gothic fever dream—only instead of a dagger you’re wielding an unholy automatic crossbow that spits bolts, bursts, and explosive hellfire while you dash through hordes of demonic filth in cursed London streets. You load in, the music kicks like a possessed church organ, and suddenly the screen is alive with writhing monsters, cultists, and things that used to be human. The crossbow feels weighty and satisfying—switching firing modes on the fly turns every run into a desperate symphony of precision and panic. Dash at the perfect moment and you weave through bullet-hell patterns like a blasphemous ballet dancer. Survive long enough and the power fantasy peaks; then one cheeky imp or a mistimed reload sends you screaming back to the menu with a new personal best and a bruised ego. That’s the dark comedy baked in: you’re this …3 found this helpful
All the reviews calling it a Devil Daggers-like are right. Instead of the minimalist style of DD, you're in a medieval courtyard of a creepy castle and zombies and other slasher-type horror guys are showing up. I would recommend it only if it's on sale, or if you're desperate for a DD-like, because there are not a ton of those.
