Crucible of the Forgotten

This is easily one of the best survivor-likes I've played. The difficulty is excellent. It actually gets hard, and you can't just stumble into one decent build and coast through the whole game. You have to pay attention to what you're building, make adjustments, and actually learn how the game works. There is also a surprising amount of depth here. Tons of build variety, secrets, different mechanics, and a lot more going on under the hood than I expected when I first started playing. I'm still finding things I didn't know were there and still trying completely different builds. It also does enough differently that it doesn't just feel like another Vampire Survivors clone. If you like these games but want something with real difficulty and a lot of depth, buy it.

Amazing build depth, tons of secrets, huge difficulty scaling, interesting and unique mechanics that I've never seen in another survivor like. This is a 10/10 indie gem. Get it right meow.

Best survivors game ever

- hard but pretty fair - (mostly) deterministic runs which is fine with me, it's a little less wasted time - the "progress" part of the game for me was knowledge rather than learning bossfights or meta-progression. most of the progression came from gaining more insight into what is needed for a successful run (lots of defenses and damage that scales well), though the final boss does take a few tries for most people probably since there are some huge telegraphed attacks
