About Dark Envoy

Dark Envoy brings classic RPG mechanics with a skill-based combat system built on classes and specializations, and blends it with diverse tactical options of approaching your battles. You control a party of relic hunters in a tale of destiny set in a conflict-torn world.

What unfolds when you combine the forces of Technology and Magic? A conflict which can have only one winner.
Enjoy the complete freedom of combat without the risk of it becoming monotonous or repetitive, as it continually offers fresh and exciting challenges. There are five different difficulty options, with the highest setting demanding you to effectively break the system.

Delve into a world of diversity as you explore our extensive roster featuring four core classes and a remarkable twelve distinct specializations, each offering a playstyle so unique that there's simply no comparing them to one another.
An extraordinary RPG system with such an expansive design that it nearly resembles a vast sandbox, it offers players boundless opportunities and creative freedom to explore and enjoy.
We don't simply tell; we illustrate choices that possess genuine significance, choices that bear substantial weight, shaping both the story and its conclusion.

They didn’t want to be pulled into all this, but others made this choice for them. Gather your unique party of companions. Your goal may not necessarily be to save the world but each other.

Play Tower of Time from the same devs instead. Dark Envoy is downgrade from that.

TLDR; can no longer recommend it.. FAR too many issues with this game.. from getting stuck in 'scenery' to skills and items that do NOT work as indicated.. and a skill (fury) that leads to your own partys' demise! had to reload the game too many times because of issues.. that is NOT fun! it seemed like a bit of fun at first.. but its a VERY basic 'ARPG'.. its more of a 'story book' where you get swept along with events that you just have to 'deal with'.. so; very linear and predictable ("I trust you!"/"just trust me!"), with repetitive 'go fetch' quests and at times completely braindead story and sub plots.. you're sent off to 'explore' an area to complete the task.. and thats ok.. but its NOT an RPG! no freedom, no significant choices.. there isnt much that is unique in this game.. very fornulaic and it also has its share of issues.. one in particular that is particularly bad..where I've had to reload in order to 'get it right'.. there are 'invisible force walls' that come up after you engage combat.. these dont let you through them to engage the enemy if the enemy 'radar' (its not LoS!) exceeds the barrier by a fair bit.. you dont have time to move past the barrier 'line' bef…

Very buggy. Repeated issues with the menus locking up and being unable to open chests unless I save and reload. Happens both with controller and keyboard/mouse.

It's a solid'ish game. it has quite a few issues and some jankiness, but overall it's better thank you think, but worse than you expect. I liked the structure of this game. It's simple and effective. Go on a missions, kill enemies, complete an objective, get back to town. Ez pz. Overall, pure gameplay reminded me of the good old Dungeon Siege. Here you create and control 2 characters and you can add 2 other teammates to your squad. There are 6 overall companions which you can recruit during a playthrough. I created 2 Rangers and it was a good decision, ranged characters are great here. There are very few difficult fights in this game. You can activate many skills and combos right before entering combat and it only takes several seconds to completely delete enemies out of existance if you click some skills beforehand. I liked that there are no cost for respeccing your skills and passives. You can try and switch them around whenever you want. Other random observations: Cutscenes end abruptly. In some of them characters' lips don't even move while talking ^^. Animations are not the best also. Level design - very repeptitive. The whole game feels like it has only a few differ…

Look, I'm a big fan of all the games that this claims to draw inspiration from, and if this came out in 2003 instead of 2023, then it might be an amazing game. Times have changed. Graphics are decades behind now. Dialogue is wooden. Plot is dull and uninteresting. The world might be developed properly, but the gameplay and story don't really reveal the lore naturally and organically. It feels cheap and uninspired. Honestly, you play as siblings in a desert town who explores ruins for treasure, or something? And two different empires are now waging war on your doorstep and they're both terrible. And everyone in the town seems terrible too? Combat mechanics have potential, but the combat itself gets repetitive. And can be at times frustrating, when enemies spawn randomly behind your front line fighters, or clunky targeting mechanisms mean that your fighters that you just moved out of an area of effect will move straight back into it. I guess clunky is the best word to describe this mess. UI is clunky. Leveling is clunky. Combat is clunky. The animation is clunky. The story and plot is clunky. Controls are clunky. Best thing about this game is that it was only $12…

It starts out a little janky. There's not really any backstory to set things up. But, in this case, its okay, you find out whats going on through some really nice cut scenes: meet new players, learn whats happening, and even make a few choices that not just can, but will affect how things progress. The 1st act closes with some really nice (not nice) feels that will get you even more invested in the characters. Act 2, here I come!
