Data Mining X is a "template flip", that is to say, it's a "game" that has been produced by copying a game template or using a game construction kit, and changing a few things. In this case it's a simple mobile-tier 2D retro/neon/minimalist physics puzzle game. Shoot a ball around a small puzzle area to collect the pages of data then exit. The ball mechanics work a bit like pool. The asset flippers at Blender Games have copied + pasted this exact same game onto Steam a whopping 10 times now. Why do a cash grab once when you can do it 10 times? This is deplorably low quality bundle trash. No professional effort was made in terms of game development, copying a template/using a game construction kit requires no talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. It's almost as bad as an outright asset flip.

It is clearly designed as an accessible entry in the developer’s ongoing “Data mining” series, aiming to deliver quick, self-contained challenges rather than a sweeping or heavily stylized adventure. From the outset, the game presents itself without narrative framing or elaborate setup, instead inviting players to engage directly with its mechanics and solve a series of increasingly intricate puzzle stages. At the heart of Data mining X is a simple but rigid gameplay loop. Each level places the player in a confined 2D space where the objective is to collect required data elements and safely reach the exit while navigating an assortment of hazards. These hazards include traps, movement modifiers, teleporters, and environmental obstacles that punish careless movement. The challenge lies not in fast reactions but in understanding how each element interacts within the space, forcing players to think ahead and plan their routes carefully.
