About Deep Space Outpost

"Welcome commander to your first non simulated mission. You are in control of our mining startup station, which has just reached our licensed territory in this sector. Mission begins now."
Deep Space Outpost is a sci-fi base builder with resource gathering and base management. Create your space station, mine asteroids for resources and make your mission a success.
Current features:-
 • Build your own space station tile by tile. Start with a small startup craft and expand to achieve your mission.
 • Game modes:- sandbox, scenarios and station builder. Current scenarios: Mining, Survival, Trading, Combat, Salvage, Repair, Tourism and Rescue.
 • Gather resources by mining or capturing asteroids. Refine into metal, fuel, oxygen and water. Salvage derelicts and scrap fields for scrap to recycle.
 • Manage your power production and usage. Watch out for solar storms and electrical damage.
 • Build defence turrets to protect you from threats such as asteroids, scrap and pirates. Watch out for pirate raiders looking to board your station!
 • Trade resources with passing trader ships, allow visitors and charge them a fee to use your facilities.
 • Hire human workers from traders. Make sure your life support, algae farm and crew quarters are functioning.
 • Job management - Prioritise workers to repair, build, transport or deal with emergencies.
 • Research - Purchase schematics, unlocking new items and upgrades.

Dont like it as it is now... if you by mistake set half of your base to delete. there is no way you can stop it so you have to wait for it to be disasebled to rebuild it... so anoying

If you're into space, and if you're into management, this game is good for you.

Brick by brick, we'll work this one through, as Irreverend Opinions takes a look at Deep Space Outpost! (Early Access 0.7.0.6 edition) [strike]---[/strike]
The Blurb
Deep Space Outpost is a space station building & survival game offering a lightweight hard sci-fi colony manager.
The Summary
Beyond the promise it definitely holds, Deep Space Outpost is a simple, but involved, colony management sim in it's own right. Still very much an Early Access title, however.
The Good
It is pretty simple and easy to get started with either sandbox or missions, avoiding resource clutter and keeping systems flowing well. The graphics are lightweight and retro, with distinct sprites and some small details that help to draw the eye or add just a small touch of extra immersion. Gameplay is simple, but looks relatively balanced at each stage. Survival is as much about forward planning as it is about plugging in new systems. The tutorial is straightforward and helps new players well. Beyond basic survival, there's also station visits by various factions in game, who will give you mission contracts from time to time. Good groundwork for a game. Really nothing to critique in regards to what is present. However, there's also not much. The game is more proof of idea stage than early access or beta stage. It's severely lacking enough content for having more than an hour or two of gameplay before completely and entirely running out of anything to do.

Great game, dev is very responsive and is always updating. This is the type of game after a full on days work, come home and relax too. Rimworld on a space station you build and run

New Review: The developer reached out quickly, got the information on what was wrong and fixed it quickly. With the big issues fixed, this game is fantastic and I recommend, not just because it is a fun game, but because the dev cares and that seems rare these days. Original Review Below: This is a fun game but has a few game breaking bugs though. Like all my drones fly out into space and stay there forever beyond the map. There's no way to destroy them on the spot or recall them and they tie themselves to a station so I cant even dismantle that. Sometimes, if there's an airlock and someone is trying to go in and out at the same time, they will all just get stuck there on their side of the door and you have to cancel all the commands to get them to back off. Also, if you have work to be done and you start multiple things to do, instead of the closest worker who's already there just doing it, it will literally grab all the people from the other side of the base in sequence to do it. This game could use at least another few months of work, especially for the price point.
