I'm enjoying this game so far. Worth the asking price in my opinion.4 found this helpful
It's a neat little game, just too reflex intensive for me. You're demon hoping to restore parts of his village through continued runs to monster realms and probably eventually the human world (you can also unlock a ranged character, but having to aim with where the mouse is facing was challenging enough with the default melee one). You beat groups of enemies - sometimes as small as 3 - and get resources and healing items you can stockpile during a run, and gear that you swap on the go: you don't collect weapons or armor during a run, though the blacksmith can get them for you at the start of a new run if you pay for them. You gradually get stronger and unlock better services by investing in different buildings and NPCs in the village. The enemy spawns seem to be set by type for areas, but the exact kind is random: you could be facing a heavy-hitting one fairly early on (one killed me in the second area) and it takes seeing when and where to dodge, it's visually nicely prompting with clear enemy tells, I j…2 found this helpful
Not the best roguelike RPG I've played, but certainly worth playing nonetheless. + Runs are short and fun + Lots of stuff to upgrade - Achievements are glitchy - I encountered a few bugs during my playthroughs - Combat sometimes feels sluggish and tedious - Super difficult, even on casual difficulty.1 found this helpful
It's a little buggy, but none of it is game breaking. It's a little grindy, but possible without the grind. It's a little game, but the ambition behind making something decent paid off. Every enemy in the game has a clear weakness and moment to attack. Your roll is how you avoid damage, and the attacks are *mostly* well telegraphed. You can play as a ranged character or a melee character. I prefer the melee personally, but ranged is playable. All in all, the game passes the time in a fun way, and that's pretty much all you can ask from a video game.1 found this helpful
