You play as Adam Jensen, a corporate security officer turned fugitive who must uncover the conspiracy behind a devastating attack on the biotech firm you were hired to protect. The game lets you tackle every situation your own way—whether through stealth, hacking, combat, or social manipulation—with a branching story that reacts to your choices and a deep augmentation system that rewards any playstyle.

- A divided near-future: discover a time of great technological advancement, but also a time of chaos and conspiracy. Mechanical augmentations of the human body have divided society between those who can afford them, and those who can’t. Opposing forces conspire from the shadow to control the destiny of mankind: a human revolution is coming.
- A perfect mix of action and role-play: the game uniquely combines action-packed close-quarters takedowns with intense shooting, offering a vast array of character augmentations and upgrades for the many weapons at your disposal. Players praise Clasico for its engaging combat system, solid story and characters, and improvements made to the original game. Invisible War 2, but done right this time. DX: HR combines the cover shooter, stealth, CRPG, and FPS genres to create an excellent near-future cyberpunk game that recaptures much of what made Deus Ex 1 so compelling, but it is dragged down by many of the most obnoxious game design trends of the 2011 AAA console era. DX: HR still provides everything expected of this series: expertly crafted dungeons sporting multiple routes to your objectives; a rich toolkit for overcoming obstacles including combat, stealth, hacking, augmentations, consumables, diligent exploration, and socializing; and exotic city hubs filled with creative side quests, deceitful characters, and secrets around every corner. The sci-fi-noir aesthetics still hold up: the soundtrack is fantastic; the in-engine graphics are phenomenal; and Elias Toufexis was born to voice Adam Jensen. Levels are much larger and more interesting to explore than Invisible War (although they are still not as elaborate as the levels in Deus Ex 1). Human Revolution might just be my favourite game of all time, but the Director's Cut is the worst version and the only one still available to purchase on Steam. You may have to tweak the game's files in order to improve performance and might experience the occasional crash, so save often. Otherwise, the game is fantastic and it's a tragedy we still don't have a resolution to Jensen's story.
