An awful FPS that is tense for all the wrong reasons. Why? Because there are no saves, no checkpoints, nothing. You die, go back to the very start. Except for the boss, the weapons (pistol, rifle) seem to have an effective range of only 5 feet. Hit detection is less often hit or more often miss and your flashlight is rather useless as lots of areas are still dark. The most difficult part is a storage area near the end of level 2 where 1-3 giant enemies clipping through everything spawn that seem to take no damage and will damage you with no indication at all. You may not pay with money, but you're paying with time better spent elsewhere.

Environment graphics are OK. Enemy graphics are horrendously bad. When you crouch, you crouch in one frame. So your view just bounces up and down if you press and release Ctrl. Enemies show no indication of being hit or taking damage until they die. I genuinely have no idea if my weapons even work until I kill something. Enemies jump and teleport randomly. You randomly teleport into new rooms (or I step on something to trigger that? Still no idea how that works). No indication of available ammo (I have 30/30 loaded, great! But how many total?) One of the ugliest HP indicators I've seen in the last decade. Overall, feels like a student project. Needs massive user interface overhauls to be reasonably playable.

So I woke up on this random Tuesday, made my bed, grabbed a cup of black coffee, went for a walk on the cobble stoned streets of my hometown and started my day as usual. What I didn't yet realize, would soon send a shiver down my side... I opened up Steam, a platform I've used in some capacity and saw a little treat of a free game called "District Zero". Now I don't usually play free Steam games, but this one caught my little eye. The music in the trailer had me hitting the griddy around my parent's spare room. I downloaded, opened up the game, and started to enjoy. The first thing that really popped out was the main menu. I could tell that about six months of dedication went into this as the curves and trajectory of the buttons and text, curve as if i'm really in the space suit! I started playing and It absolutely changed my life. The lighting, texturing, music, audio and design was all perfection. I think I speak for all of us when I say the alien dog deserved to be on the cover of this game. Saying this is a masterpiece and a must play is an understatement. This is a once in a generation type of title. If you have a free five minutes, play this for 6/7 hours. The jetpack I g…

This was the best game I've ever played The art was very good and the enemies were very scary and made very scary sounds. The boss room was very well made and well organized. I also liked the variety in enemies and the captains log. 10/10, I expect it to get game of the year
