Ultimately, I somehow enjoyed Doomed Lands, but I simply cannot recommend it because it is a buggy mess, even though it is possible to beat the game and unlock every achievement. The inventory and storage system is the most tedious part I have ever dealt with. It is completely broken and forces you to press buttons (on controller) in a very specific, illogical order. If you do not follow that exact sequence, you will not be able to move items or the cursor between storage chests and inventory. I also ran into numerous bugs, such as the first boss performing a single jump attack and then becoming permanently stuck, allowing me to beat it to death easily, or being unable to build a structure at a given location because of an invisible blocking element. I also ran into performance issues. At first the game slowed down dramatically during the late‑night cycle. After I adjusted the settings to permit higher CPU usage, the slowdown disappeared, even though nothing visible explained the problem while playing. I played on a handled gaming PC. Doomed Lands won't run on Steam Deck at all. Balance is poor. The game offers a decent challenge until you defeat the first boss and acquire his …

I tried to like this one. I wish I can give Doomed Lands a "mixed" rating. However, the clunky inventory system and rage inducing bugs ruined the overall experience. Combat was very basic, but passable. The base building and crafting are way too laborious. And I ran into a bug where the chest would not allow the use of one slot in it. Thumbs down - reluctantly.

Oh my lord--after 7.1 hours and almost tearing my hair out I finally 100%ed this game. Now, before I get into the reasons, do I recommend this game? Yes, however not for the full price. I got it during the Spring sale when it was 85% off, only costing $1.79. Now, why is it not worth the full price? It is very janky. I had a lot of fun--it feels like a combination of Forager and Stardew Valley--it has several bugs that can hurt its enjoyability. Also, the hit boxes are a bit wonky, These bugs honestly didn't impact me as much as others though. The next reason is the drought of content--it only took 7 hours to fully complete, and it probably would have been about 6 if not for the bugs. If they had kept updating it, then I think it could have been a hit game, but sadly the developers abandoned it. Lastly are a couple bugs that impacted my time that I would like to talk about--two, in specific. First was the training dummy. It was my second-to-last achievement, I think it is supposed to always spawn next to your house, but it only did so when I made a second save file, so I spent forever trying to find it just to hit it for the achievement. Then was the spider cave. This was partially …
