Dracologic

Dracologic attracted me with it's nice arcade-like visuals and I am a huge fan of that since it does remind me like I'm playing an arcade game. It does seem to have some intricate puzzle design and helps a little in understanding how the game works. However, what takes away from the game is not exactly describing what does what. Like, what does the colored orbs do? What different kind of spells do what? What is the objective of this game? I know I'm to defeat the dragon, but I don't get a lot to work with besides that? There's so many questions I find myself asking as I'm just simply clicking around at colors as they do intended effects. I've only ever progressed past three enemies before losing and before that, I've lost a few times because of how fast the game can end. I just found myself lost in understanding completely as to what I'm to do to get the maximum amount of fun here. Every time you lose a game, you have to sit through the small tutorial again and again. That'd be fine to help me understand HOW to play the game. Just like some old arcade puzzlers, the instructions aren't quite enough to tell you how to play it. I picked up a few hints the developer left in the discussions and figured out the gist. (This is my analysis:) * Click the words "Click to Skip" if you've already seen the tutorial. * Clicking a gem attacks the other gems in the direction of the arrows. * Gems with a dot between the arrows skip over one gem in each direction when they attack. This makes strategy difficult. * Magic gems will attack in all directions. * Special gems appear that can blow things up, but you can't activate them directly. * Attacks from arrow gems will delete other arrow gems, and detonate explosive gems and magic gems. Similar gems touching each other will be deleted/detonated together. * You do NOT want to directly attack the "dragon stones" because this will wake them up, and they will start to infect the board. * You DO want to detonate explosives as much as possible because this will eliminate dragon stones. * The green liquid timer at the top of the board runs out every few seconds and one of your explosives gets replaced with regular arrows.
