In its current state, Pre-Alpha, I can't recommend this as a game just yet. The main attraction of this game is getting to play as a dragon, but how the creatures control in this game is bad. Like an old MMO or a game from the early 2000's, you're stuck with tank controls; Your creature can't strafe or move in any fast capacity, you HAVE to make a wide turn if you want to move in a given direction. You're also extremely slow. This map is massive; It's clear a lot of work has gone into the map and the player models themselves, but the polishing work for the map and characters mean nothing if players are stuck traversing a huge map at a snail's pace. There are fast travel points, but they are hard to see from a distance, can be confused with glowing crystals or flora, and they need to be unlocked via exploration (literally walking up and interacting with them) before you can use them. You also need to find and interact with one in order to travel between them... But there's no minimap or map UI. You literally navigate by what you can see on screen in front of you. When you're exploring at a snail's pace, it makes travel an absolute chore. Even flying, the mechanic used by the mos…21 found this helpful
i feel like i dont need to say much but this game hasnt done anything important. gameplay hasnt been worked on hardly at all and my dragons levels got bumped down for no reason, i have no idea what to do and where to go, leveling is INCREDIBLY tedious as well.3 found this helpful
Not worth it at this point in time. Controls are clunky and not much to do. Creating the actual character seems like the most interesting thing to do, so if you ARE planning on trying it, just bear that in mind.2 found this helpful
Is the game playable? Yes. Is it worth $20? In the state it's in right now, no lol. But I'm conflicted in saying that because it has a lot of potential and the developers have proven that with the recent updates to game mechanics and showcasing bits of the storyline, so I want to ensure the game's success by funding it. But not everyone's willing to risk $20 on potential, I get that. If you really love fantasy creatures and roleplaying, I encourage you to spend the $20 to help ensure the game's success, or at least support them on ko-fi, because there's no other game like it right now. Check out their discord to see all of the concept art and in-game models. You'll see what I mean.
such a cool game!
I believe this can become the best dragon sim MROPG. Quality and graphics are great! The open world is fantastic as well. The game can be challenging but also just relaxing. The minimalistic survival qualities (e.g. needing water, food, rest, HP or mana recovery) are excellently balanced to the rest of the game as well! The freedom to design your own dragon/beast is impressive and has a lot of options. The flying effects and landscapes are so beautiful as well. It's still in development so it'd cool to see the changed happen as time passes. Also, it would be cool if we could get a "map" function and some sort of small story line (e.g. WOW or SWTOR) to follow at the beginning to get used to the many game options and controls. I would also love it if the UI zoom could be edited freely (e-g- zoom out more as to see the full growing dragon while playing).
