You are never alone — decide who to take into battle, and together face down demons, dragons, and corrupt gods.
- Recruit Distinct Companions — Your team is full of individuals with grim and wondrous histories, their own personal struggles and motivations, and rare skills that’ll help you survive. Beautiful story, very coherent from the beginning to the end, excellent characters, good graphics and fun combat. I genuinely do not understand why the rating is so low, I had a lot of fun and I sincerely recommend it.1 found this helpful
What another Masterpiece of game. This game was already very beautiful and with dlss5, the graphics stepped up several notch. Sometimes I used to travel through the fast teleports but now, I enjoy the ride and no more fast travel. Great Dragon Age world, great story, great graphics, sound and music...If you haven't played it, than the shame is on you.
Having played the other Dragon Age games, this was a real disappointment. Good: - The gameplay is pretty good if you're looking for an action game. - The skill trees mean that you actually feel the progression and get to lean different combos and styles over time. - Being able to respec abilities without having to go to a trainer or buy a talent reset is great, but it would have been better if you could have it memorize certain presets. Bad: - It's nothing like the party-based games that all the previous games in the series were shaped around. - Your companions are mostly present so that they can either A) heal you or B) set you up with "primers" and "detonations" every 30 - 45 seconds. - The story writing is awful. You don't have any really significant choices. Solas justification for tearing down the veil seems well founded based on the plot and evidence from Inquisition, but Veilguard pretty much ignores all of that. [spoiler] It would have made much more sense for you to have an option at the end to A) tear down the veil, B) have spent effort to find an alternative, or C) bind Solas to the veil (as is currently your only option. [/spoiler] - The dialog is atrocious. You'v…
They have absolutely neutered this franchise. Which is the absolutely perfect description for this game, as all the masculinity has been ripped out of it, an replaced with LG4KHDTV community propaganda. The weakest writing of any Dragon Age game ever. The word "Okay" appears more in this title than it does in all previous titles combined. Combat in this game is abysmally watered down to more closely resembles something like Overwatch with it's skill use. Your character no longer feels like you have any real control over it's build. "You have these skills, use them" is basically the extent of it. Sure, you get to "modify" them, but it's a very poor experience. I would rather play DA2 than this.
Amazing story and closes out the series beautifully
There are a lot of things that made people upset in this game but nothing was more disappointing to me personally than to see nearly every plot thread and choice we made across 3 games get chucked into the trash, Bioware if any of you read these reviews please, do not leave this IP to die in a ditch like this.
