About Dragon Age™ Inquisition

✦ AI summary

Lead the Inquisitor and your band of champions through a vast, war-torn world where your choices fundamentally reshape the fate of Thedas and determine who lives or falls. Command tactical, strategic combat across sprawling landscapes filled with hidden secrets, enemy strongholds, and demonic threats in this choice-driven RPG where every decision carries real consequences.

When the sky opens up and rains down chaos, the world needs heroes. Become the savior of Thedas in Dragon Age: Inquisition – Game of the Year Edition. You are the Inquisitor, tasked with saving the world from itself. But the road ahead is paved with difficult decisions. Thedas is a land of strife. Factions constantly war with each other even as a larger demonic invasion has begun. And you? You and your band of champions are the only ones who can hold it together. It’s your job to lead them...or fall.

Enthralling, choice-driven narrative — You’re not just deciding who to send into which battle in Inquisition; you’re making important decisions that shape the future of Thedas. Each choice carries weight, and your actions can lead to a variety of outcomes. Inquisition is a highly personalized journey, where one wrong move could set in motion a series of events that alters the physical aspects of the world itself, making your Thedas — and your heroes — feel truly unique.

A massive world to discover — The world of Thedas has never been bigger or more detailed; it’s wide open and ripe for exploration. Discover enemy keeps ripe for the taking. Unearth hidden caves filled with lurking creatures. Thedas is vast and dangerous, but uncovering its secrets can spell the difference between victory and defeat.

Intense, strategic combat — There’s no wrong way to play Dragon Age: Inquisition...except for the way that gets you killed. Fortunately, the optional strategic view gives you a god’s-eye vantage on battle. Time stops while you plan in this view, but if that’s not your style, you can just barrel ahead, crossbows blazing.

The Game of the Year edition comes with:
  • Base game
  • Flames of the Inquisition Arsenal, Armor, and Armored Mount
  • Dragon Age multiplayer Deluxe Edition chests
  • Skyhold Throne, Red Hart Halla and Bog Unicorn
  • Jaws of Hakkon DLC Pack
  • The Descent DLC Pack
  • Trespasser DLC Pack
  • Spoils of the Avvar: 5 new mounts, 2 new sets of armor, and new options to personalize your base at Skyhold.
  • Spoils of the Qunari: An armored war mount, new armor sets — including 1 in the style of the Arishok — and Skyhold items.

Jaws of Hakkon DLC
Discover the fate of the last Inquisitor and the powerful dragon he hunted.

The Descent DLC
Go underground to reveal the source of mysterious earthquakes threatening Thedas.

Trespasser DLC
Decide the Inquisition’s final fate as new threats emerge.

Sadly like it's predecessor it continued the dumbing down of the gameplay and its trajectory to what would later become the death of the franchise. Putting that aside though, you have a game with a wealth of content, big worlds to check out, interesting choices to make, a great art style, a roster of interesting characters (some way more than others) and a good enough combat system. 40 bucks for a game from well over a decade ago is too steep however.

A fantastic game (played on console beforehand) that has a few iffs in vanilla gameplay but is ultimately made better with mods. One thing of note though, modding this game is an utter nightmare for me. Either I am a buffoon, or something else is the issue, but I cannot manage to get DAI SaveGame Editor to work OR having DAIMM and Frosty work in tandem. TORTURE. I know it's possible but it is like dragging yourself up a hill to get a drink of water. The story itself is great, a little plothole here and there like veilguard, but the companion stories and banter is fantastic as you get beat down by the fade. I will forever DESPISE the unending exploration. I could walk for 3 in-game miles and still be so damn far away from an adjective.. ALSO WE DESERVED MORE INQY VAs!! DAI makes me miss DA2 fighting style though, and while there is still some flare, DA2 takes the cake on that by a mile. DAO will always reign champion over these games, so it is hard for the trilogy to really live up to that experience but DAI cuts it pretty close. Should've given Solas his hair back though... And as a recommendation for fun-- romance that sexy warden blackwall..

It's not without its faults, but Dragon Age: Inquisition is still a fantastic RPG. The combat is straightforward yet satisfying, the story is intriguing, and the roleplaying mechanics are some of the strongest in the series. Its main drawback is the open world—completing every side activity can quickly feel repetitive and overwhelming. While the narrative relies somewhat on lore from previous entries, playing them isn't strictly necessary to enjoy the story and characters. That said, the Dragon Age Keep website is still live, allowing you to customize world state choices from past games without having to play them (though do yourself a favor and play Origins at the very least). I definitely recommend this game along with its DLCs.
