About Drakensang: The River of Time
Embark on a river journey through medieval fantasy Aventuria in this prequel RPG that branches your story based on character choices and behavior, with new class archetypes, dynamic quest chains, and increasingly complex plot twists. Experience enhanced gameplay with adjustable difficulty, new monsters and equipment, and the flexibility to play as rare dwarven druids or fierce barbarians in an adventure that reshapes your perspective with every destination.
Starting in Aventuria’s Middenrealm in the city of Ferdok, the story of the games takes players down the Great River to the city of Nadoret. Many mythical legends entwine around this river and will also flow into the main plot. The story will contain more twists than in Drakensang: With every place the player visits, his view on things will change. Depending on the choice of character, and behavior, new opportunities and series of quests will come up.
Living on a ship, players will experience a broad variety of RPG quests. There will be two new character archetypes to play, tons of new foes and monsters as well as equipment items.
Two new classes of heroes: the Geodes (rare Aventurian druids of the dwarfs) and the Gjalskerland inhabitants (tenacious and hard barbarians).
Advanced expert mode and adjustable levels of difficulty.

Doesn't boot. Buyer beware.2 found this helpful
A slow paced but wonderful RPG. I bought this Game in a real physical copy back then, but bought it on Steam too, just to support the developers. Very sad, that games like that arent made any more. Really interesting mechanics and complex rule systems (i mean that in a good way!). I also like the handdrawn graphics, even if they are a little datet. The atmosphere in this game is fantastic. the same appliey to its predesessor, DRAKENSANG. Oh, the Music is fantastic too.2 found this helpful
Ardo is basically bedridden the entire game XP XD
Note: Since the DLC (Phileasson's Secret) and the main game have 2 separate launchers, you need to play through the DLC's one if you want it to appear in your playthrough. Took me about ~40 hours to beat the game on hardest difficulty + DLC, which does not appear here. River of TIme has some clear improvements over the original. Most notably, it is fully voice acted, has fast travel, multiple difficulties and includes a couple new classes. The story itself is a prequel to the original game, revolving around Ardo. So if you played the original game you will see that there's many references to it. Aside from that, it is mostly the same in terms of gameplay and other aspects (for example, the majority of abilities is pretty much the exact same). I'd say that If you enjoyed the original Drakensang and want more of the same, this is a solid experience. Personally however, while I enjoyed River of TIme, I still prefer the original one as the scope felt bigger and I enjoyed having a bigger cast of companions.
very nice
