If you ever wondered, 'what if Dragon Age was made by an European studio with a fraction of the budget?' Drakensang answers that question. At times janky, but very charming and fun. An easy recommendation if you are a fan of tabletop style RPGs like BG, DAO, NW, etc.1 found this helpful
Seriously, just play Dragon Age Origins. This game may have pioneered a lot, but it is a slog fest. My God, the number of the same old dungeons that went on forever with wave after wave of trash was ridiculous. 80% of the rest of the game is just running back and forth. The loot was crap. The quests were okay. The graphics still gold up. The dialogue was lame. This game could easily be condensed in half. TBH I am still at a loss as to why they even have loot. Also, all the skills, you actually use like 3 skills. Don't even waste your time picking plants for alchemy because alchemy is just as worthless as blacksmithing. Literally every skill was trash other than lockpick to like max of 10. Don't bother wasting your time and skill points leveling it up more considering you can just use lock picks. Speech is a waste. Lol, basically if you succeed you just miss a battle or something and then lose your limited amount of exp in the game unless you exploit the end game running back and forth forcing respawns. Also, it was weirdly balanced. Most of it was super easy until like 2 battles which were out of place insanely hard. The story was jank. I mean there was seriously…
Absolute lovely and epic game. <3
A slow paced but wonderful RPG. I bought this Game in a real physical copy back then, but bought it on Steam too, just to support the developers. Very sad, that games like that arent made any more. Really interesting mechanics and complex rule systems (i mean that in a good way!). I also like the handdrawn graphics, even if they are a little datet. The atmosphere in this game is fantastic. Oh, the music is great too!
