Dungeons 4

i tried this game for 1 hour. it has visually attractive characters and a unique environment. but i found the gameplay to be boring, i think they could of made this a more full featured game,

It's just Dungeon Keeper but with less game mechanics, a sad RTS portion slapped on, and a enough cheesy one-liners to make me sick. I LOVE games like Dungeon Keeper and War for the Overworld. I adore the occasional cheesy one-liner or wink to the player like in the Orcs Must Die series. But THIS is just WAY too much. I get that it has a dedicated fanbase. And I'm really happy for those people. But I can't stomach this. I'm sorry.

Dungeons 4 demonstrates how a long-running strategy series can evolve without abandoning the qualities that made it popular in the first place. Developed by Realmforge Studios and published by Kalypso Media, this latest entry embraces its identity as a dungeon management simulator wrapped in a comedic fantasy adventure. Players once again assume the role of the Absolute Evil, directing the ambitions of the ever-reliable dark elf Thalya as she carries out a campaign of conquest across a world populated by annoyingly virtuous heroes. From its opening moments, the game makes it clear that it is larger, funnier, and more ambitious than its predecessor. At its heart, Dungeons 4 is about creating the ultimate underground stronghold. Excavating rock, expanding corridors, constructing specialized chambers, and assigning minions to their duties create an engaging gameplay loop that remains rewarding throughout the campaign. The game introduces significantly larger maps and more freedom in dungeon design, giving players ample room to experiment with layouts and optimize their operations. Resource management is equally important, as gold, evilness, and production chains are all interconnecte…

8/10 I love this game. Dungeons 4 is a blast. The loop of entering a new map, building a base, fighting off waves, and taking over the surface is incredibly satisfying. My biggest gripe is the price of the DLCs. I would love to buy them, but I believe in the "$1 per hour of gameplay" rule. Sure, I could technically get that value if I replayed the missions or skirmish maps (if they offer them), but I only want to do that if the maps are exceptionally good. I really love and enjoy the game, but the DLC prices bring it down a little.

I loved the game. The use of Hoard to move upward to Demons and then Undead makes a lot more sense the the point/skill tree in Dungeons 3. I can actually use all the monsters and abilities instead of just focusing on the armored goblins and buffed up Orcs. The witty dialog and stupid jokes make it all worth while. I like the game, but without a story and characters, the dungeon building alone would feel empty and soulless. The downside: in "The Big Eaty" , the instructions towards the end were in small type under the main menu. I missed it the instructions more times than I would dare to admit. I think I liked the soundtrack from Dungeons 3 better. Dungeons 4 has some electric guitar riffs that rub me the wrong way. I don't know if it matches the usual theme of the game. I might get used to it, but at first, it caught me off guard.

This is a fun game for fans of Dungeon Keeper. They have understood the spirit of the orignal and have expanded, delightfully, with things like the Narrator. Would obviously recommend to base builders and evil gods. It isn't perfect (needs a bit more complexity with rooms and characters) but it does fill a portion of my heart!
